how fast can you get your honda????

i was just curious how fast everyone has gone in their hondas? i got mine up to 115mph today, i was racin some saturn that had a punk ass kid in it. i burned him. he thought he was tough gettin all close to me when im already goin like 90. but i love my car, on other cars once you go above 80 the wheel starts shakin. my accord doesnt shake at all at any speed, pretty sweet!!!:bandit:

my 87 DX 100mph, Used to be 120 when i lower the timing which when i originally got the car..was High as hell... so i lower it... put Acel coil new sparkplugs..change oil , new cables.. and still wont pass 100mph grr.....

I really dont know how fast mine was going but when i past one of those thingie machines that tell you how fast your going it showed M1 , and a cop stoped me to give me a ticket told me if i knew how fast i was going, i said no and hes like well my counter shows "?? I stopped at 100 same effect as Sabz5150 ie Smooth after 75 or 80.....I was trailing a Vette who was behind some joker going 50....the joker moved over, the vette took off and I took off behind him.....kept up until I reached my personal limit (100).... needless to say , he kept going. I agree, it felt like I was floating...may need some down force....but haven't had the Dinero or time to do any mods, still running stock.

I hit 127 on a stock motor, no mods. Once I hit 90 it was almost like I wasn't even driving on the road the ride got so smooth. Even up at 127 I felt like the car was riding perfectly smooth, no rattling or anything, now that's a true testament to our cars.

just wanted 2 add myself 2 the 130 club and it does it pretty well and smooth as silk my hood gets alittle shakie i need bigger ports inside of the scoop i think it goes faster but im out of speedo my boy has a conquest we live near a major highway that everybody test there top speeds there and we ran side by side at 137 so i know it has more but my hood gets 2 bad and i back off ...dont want 2 mess it up 3geez forever ......dark..

135 mph agains my buddies, one of them got a 92 Mazda MX-6 turbo and the other one has a 2002 Mazda Protege. It was fun! we were to the beach ( Atlantic city) and that's a straight road. I was in front and then the protege and then the mx-6. We were doing around 90 mph ( i had it in 4th gear. by the way all of us have stick shift) and all of the sudden....... it was on! for some reason once we passed 128 mph or so my buddy in the protege slowed down and the mx-6 my my self kept going until my radar started going off and we slowed down. Once we got there my boy in the mx-6 said that he could of dust me but he had the AC on............ Other day it was me and the protege and guys let me tell ya that he could not catch up! it felt soooooooooo good becaus he was braggin about his 2002 protege! and i got him pretty good. After i got him, i then slow down to 60 mph and he flew by me but at that time i had proven my point. Yo, if i tell you all the stories that i have with my baby (my SE-i) i would need a whole page. well ive got an EFI si with an a20a4, i got my car to 150km/h before the car locked at a little over 4k rpm and dead on 150km/h and it wouldn't give anymore than that even with the foot down the engine just settled down and the ride was comfortable as all hell, but it seems to me that there car has a speed limiter as well as a rev limiter. Which is annoying since I had a shit load of road to work with.....

Im wanting to try and source a gen 2 prelude ecu, apparently the wiring of the australian 3geez should be compatible. That's the theory, since they aus ones from 86-87 are identical to the 88-89 ones, im certain.


Anyone want to supply me with a gen 2 prelude ECU to test it out?

welp i got a 89 dx stock carb. I pushed the sucker too 120 or so with no prob. it didnt shake at all till i began to slow for a stop(i think that is realated to the fact i wrecked it 2 weeks ago, no real damage cept for it's little out of line.) Alls i got to say is since i tooken up the street racin hobby i have smoke a saturn, a neon, a probe, a 86 accord, a 86 crx. I do 90-95 on the highway all the time without thinkin bout it. I must one hell of a car.

well guys it looks like the best we have is 130 give or take a few miles... the real question now is... how do we hit a solid 140??? Is it possible on a a20a engine?? and what mods are we looking at here... I think its safe to say that only the efi people can realisticly hit that mark... my personal best was 127mph with a decient amount of mods... I think when my headers come in I'll top just over 130 on my carbed engine... Now if you really have the balls... take a pic or have a buddy in the back seat do it because we can all sit here and talk about breaking 130 but having a pic of it is where it's at... there's nothing like cold hard proof... just dont kill yourself doing it...

A few months ago one of my friends was riding with me and he was playing with his new GPS receiver. One of it's features is that it can tell you your speed to the .0 mi/hr. At any speed, 30, 45, 70, etc my speedometer always ready 10% high. If anything, it should read low since I am on bigger 205-60-14 tires instead of the smaller 195-60-14 that it's calibrated for.

Just to give an idea what that means: let's say my car can go 120 mi/hr (listed top speed for stock 89 lxi). My speedometer would read 133 mi/hr (if it even could read that high).

Unless you know that your speedometer is accurate, it's just an estimate. Try driving past one of the speed limit signs with the radar that tell you your speed on an empty road and see how close yours really is.

No, I meant drive by it at a legal speed and see how close your speedometer is to the speed that the radar says. It would give you an idea how accurate your speedometer is.

ya a freind actually told me to do that once... I cant seem to find any of those things though... if you get two other cars to drive next to you and you take thier speeds and average them w/ yours you could get a pretty acurate number.

But Neither did he :flip: It was just a guess that I hit 140 since the needle was burried past 130 on the speedometer, I could be mistaken tho.

I've done the same thing. Got past 130, needle went a bit more, and coudn't go anymore. Then it got sorta unstable going around a big gradual turn (body roll is hellacious above 100mph, stock) and I slowed way back down. That was on I-95 north around last December.

...and dead smooth the whole way there.

I've hit 118 over 30 times with it so far on Rt.8 up here in CT. Car seems like it's governed at that b/c I can't seem to get anymore out of it.

nope no governer... it does seem like it on some cars depending on what mods are done... I remember before I started on mine it would climb up to 117'ish and just die out... keep at it and you get in the 130's with barely any money into it at all... Intake, headers, and catback exhaust piping and you should do it fairly easily....
