It's the metric system on this side of the world.

They are the original gauges just I replaced the stock front lighting with 2 blue LEDS and ive repsrayed the bezel.

08-03-2002, 09:42 AM
whoa so the numbers are clear you jus put different lights behind them, and whats the bezel you sprayed??

gr3k0sLaV
08-03-2002, 09:49 AM
well I removed the stock lights and took the blue condoms off them and and replaced them so my numbers were cleared, funny thing is the blueish light isn't from the condoms but the clear numbers cause the light to be blue.

Im eventually gunna remove the stock lights and replace them all with blue LEDS.

the light does shine through, but its very hard to light up the numbers the you printed on the paper with the light that shines through. so i put duct tape on the back of the printed gauges.

I use the stock bezel as a template and drill out the holes close to the edges and clean them up with my High speed air dremmel with a spiral bit on it and use a small file to make the corners of the Idiot lights. I then sand and polish it.

you dont need a stick for a big RPM gauge,
ive seen plenty of people with auto's using them.

I don't need a monster tach... stock tach does me good enough.

If you're wondering, the gauges to the left are manifold vacuum and air/fuel ratio. The light to the right is a Proform standalone shift light that's adjustable in the back from 3,000 to 12,000 RPM.

I have a triple gauge pod that is going on the dash directly in front of the clock. I currently have an Oil Pressure and Fuel Pressure gauge for it. Don't know what other gauge I'll need... probably a voltmeter.

eBay owns me.

Didnt you know that the newer Honda's dont use steering wheels?

They use some new sort of mental telephathy neuro sensors to read your mind and control the car.

Old school ripped them out and put it in his car.

hey does anyone know a company who makes black faced guages with red numbers for our cars, and for justin and juan what car are those guage pods origionally for, because i have searched for about 2 months now and i can only find them for crx's in out years.....if they are for our cars where did u get them, if they are for a different model what modifications did you have to do to make them work

88turboaccord
08-11-2002, 08:27 AM
They are from an 88 crx, all you have to do is take a heat gun to it.

I'm sure most car's guage pods you could customize to fit our cars, I do alot of customizing and thats the first thing I see on something like that, but what I need help with is, I see you guys having nice guage faces, I cannot whatsoever find guage faces for my car, I want the AC Autotechnic Guage faces cus I have 5 AC Autotechnic Reverse Glow Racing Guages that I am about to install flush into the passenger side of the dash, but the damn company never replied with the answer if they make them for our cars or not, I was thinking of buying a 90-93 Accord 5Spd Guage Face, cus it seems Identical, Help please!

what are the dimensions for the fuel/temp gauge? mine says 378x400 in photoshop 6 and thats way off, i downloaded some gauges that MyGarbageLxi made and the sizing on the Fuel/temp gauge was off, or at least for me it was, whats the sizing on them?

hondaaccord_86
08-22-2002, 01:33 PM
well i asked around with the guys that do have a guage pod and they said to get an "88 crx pod, then with a heating gun, mold it onto the a-pillar." so i plan i to do that sometime this month.

btw thanks to 88turboaccord for the info

Speedometer must be 10cm and the other 2 guages must be 9cm I belive, either that or mm, but I belive its cm. In photoshop go to print options or print settings and it allows you to change the size of the picture, change it to 9 and 10 cm for the right guages and it will print perfectly.

MiGeY, that looks phat man! how'd you get the carbon fiber look? looks sweet!

2Fast_Fiero
08-23-2002, 06:36 PM
MiGeY, what are you going to do about lighting? Cus I am using your guages, mine aren't colored tho but I'll get them done soon, but what I'm doing is getting a neon black light or blue light to light up the dash pod, most likely a black light, something that you won't be able to see, but the guages glow at night, and I want to do what 88turboaccord did and make my needles red with the round part white, but I want the needles and the numbers to be printed in some sort of ink that glows bright with the black light. Any Ideas?

2Fast_Fiero
08-23-2002, 06:37 PM
I do carbon fiber fabrication, and on things that are flat like that, its easy, all you need is a platform which you can use the stock bezel, Carbon Fiber Fabric, and a way to mold Plexi Glass onto that. easy!!!

gr3k0sLaV
08-23-2002, 07:59 PM
I had blue leds shining on my gauges, they were just decorative nothing else.

Anyway so i just removed all the backlighting and replaced the blue leds with a 10cm Cold Cathode tube, looks sweet, its a blue one too.

MiGeY, could you send me your stock guage scans, cus yours are the clearest guage faces I've seen.

Thanx guys.

Carbon Fiber:
Well as MSI said it is easy I just got a sheat of Carbon Fiber stuff and applied it. Cost me about $16 for a sheet.

Lighting:
I have no idea yet, I just realized that I need to do something about the back lighting because its shining through and you can see the other lettering/numbering. So what I'm thinking is to disconect the back lighting and get a nice bright Neon or something and replace those two LEDs on top. As for the needles I got a spray paint that looks close to the color of the lettering. I need to repaint them though because I left some finger prints(had to put them on wet because I had to go to work).

MSI it looks like you got your scans some where else already, plus I dont have the stock guage scans :(

Also I will post a pic of what the guage looks like in the car(I love my new Digi cam, you can take pics anytime)

The lil blue clear strip that changes the color of the stock orange or yellow looking lights makes the guage faces green, I put a battery operated white tube bulb behind that and the guage's glow blue at night, but I just need to find a way to get it to run on my 12V system and a way to mount it, if not I'm gonna have my x boss's wife print these out on lazer paper with some killer ink that will glow with a black light, and I'll install a flush bulb inside of that area, and I'll have my needles painted with the same stuff. I'll make a how to once I can get a small 6" Bulb.
