This car is a mess... I will start at the beginning
1) Car sat for 2 years with no gas cap
2) Fuel pump bad.
3) Both filters replaced because fuel on partly working.
a) Finally got fuel to the carb...
4) Carberator bad will not run and accelerator pump not working at all.
5) Rebuilt Carberator... Accelerator pump passage plugged with rubber from accelerator pump. (Bad Rebuild)
6) Now for the fun part. I can only get it to start by pumping the gas 4 times or more... It will not Idle and if I keep pumping it the car will backfire exibiting and nice ball fo fire from the carb.
Does anyone have any suggestion on what to check next... I am thinking bad plugs or timing belt. Or am I going in the wrong direction? I triple checked everything on the carb build. I also triple checked the vacuum lines. The air cleaner is not it. so I hooked the vac lines for it together. Could that cause what I am seeing?
