do u have to modify anything for the LED's...we are talkin about the the bumper lens which below the headlights rite?

No you don't have to modify anything, they sell stock LED replacements. I just picked up a pair for the brake and backlights as well. Each lamp contains 26 super bright LED's and is an exact replacent for the stock bulb. Just put the lamp # and LED in a search on ebaymotors.

I don't remember the # but if you go to autozone.com you can look up the bulb #.

Looks like the right bulb, but you probably need to get an amber one to keep the lights legal if you have a clear lense.

what the chances that a cop would pull me over for those and would he fine me?

HostileJava

That depends on your local laws and the local law enforcement. I got pulled over several times in my hatch for blue lights.

where were the blue lites

i cleared my lense, so now arent they illegal?

HostileJava

haha, the blue lights were all over and it really depended on my mood as to wich ones i turned on. If they are clear with white bulbs in them, then yes that is not legal. If they have amber bulbs it's ok.

What do you want? A bulb with more wattage or a buld with brighter light? I'm sure you can find either one since they make different kinds of bulbs for any car.

dude, here is the thing. clear lenses should have amber bulbs in them to be state legal for turn signals. If you want to put just a yellow bulb in there, if you do get pulled over by a asshat, then u will get a ticket.

our bumper turn signals use a single filament, meaning, there is only one tip on the bottom unlike the twin u showed me on the ebay link. SO it wont work.

our car is touchy with the resistance, even an aftermarket light off the shelf that looks like ours, might not work since the resistance differs and our circuit detection module just goes nuts (atleast with the brake lights).

I got clear lense but have amber bulb inside, i dont need a brighter bulb in there since its not gonna light up my path and its pretty darn bright for other people to see even in snow, rain, fog or just in bright daylight. so just stick with the stock looking bulb, either yellow or amber (my recomendation, the glass looks orange) and u will be fine.

I had clear bumper lights on my '88 with clear bulbs and never got stopped for it, and a friend of mine has a '95 GS-R and it passed inspection with clear corners...i guess it does depend on where you live though...

My friend's car didn't pass inspection b/c his tail and front lights werent "DOT" approved but the place was just picky b/c I know of many other people that got there cars inspected with non "DOT" lights.

i have silver coated amber bulbs on mine. It still has the look of a clear bulb but when you turn it on it is amber. I like it. :) I can grab the website I got it from if you like.

i just want a briter bulb. i don't want the orange or amber look. i want like a bright white or a light shade of blue. if any body got a ticket for the bumper lense not being the right color, how much was the ticket?

43 bucks for a ticket in idaho, plus it pisses cops off, I don't recommend non-amber lights!

here's what i did for LED lights. its one of those amber marker lights that supposed to go on a trialer. for me, there was no modifications, no cutting. but for the 88-89 coupe and sedan bumper light there would be, so an 1157 LED bulb would be what would be easiest.

hey about those leds. Ive heard that since the 3gee has those warning lights in the cluster about which lights are out especially in the rear tails. The leds send that into alarm or whatever. is this true? Have you had any problem like that?

Why do you want to provoke and piss off the po-po??? ANY blue or red bulb in the front of your car IS illegal.
I just can't figure out why you would purposely use these so you will get pulled over. What are you 16????

They will show up as the bulb being burnt out, but I'm working on hooking up a pot to fake it out.

with my LEDs in, they flashers blink fast in turn signals, but as hazard lights they flash at the right speed. the reason for them flashing fast is because they take up so little power, unlike the filament bulbs. i think i can add a resistor to them to make them blink slower, but it doesnt really bother me to have fast blinkers.

Technically the reason they flash fast is because the relay doesn't see them, because they have such low current draw.
