While going through some of my old home videos, I came across one from Christmas, 1985. In it there is a shot of my 86 Accord LXi hatchback with the dealer license plate placard and temporary tags. It looked so good, even with the louvers, a big thing in the 80's. :D I, along with a couple other members have had the priviledge of driving the 3G new back in the day.

That looks so clean. Why were people so into louvers?

Well, for the newbies here, this is what happened to my 86. It was sickening. Some old lady rear ended it at 55 mph. The reason the front end is bashed in as well is because the force was so hard that I had a second impact with the car in front of me. It was 8 months old and had only 30,000 miles on it.:crying:

As a matter of fact it was a total. However, it was only after a two-month long fight with her insurance company that is was considered such. They insisted that it could be repaired, which is total nonsense. Finally after spending over $250 in rental car fees, and taking out a SECOND car loan for new car, I notified my insurance company, who paid off the car, reimbursed me for towing and rental car fees, and sued her insurance company for both. That's one of the reasons I had these photos, as evidence for the case my insurnace company had against hers.

ha! they tried telling you that wasn't a total? you'd need a completely new rear half of the car to fix that, plus the damage to the front.
