Hi!
Take a little time to my question .............

I found nothing about B20A engine here (Taiwan/Asia). But it's easy to get the B20B engine which was from HONDA CRV, my question is, it's allowed 3G to replace B20A engine with some parts also changed accordingly, how about the B20B put into the 3G?

Or where I can find the detail specification of B20A & B20B which I can compare the deviation. My plan is to replace my A20A4 to B20B, if it could work??

Thanks!

A B20B swap is the same premise as a B16 or B18. The CR-V B20 is based on that B-series architecture. The B20A for the Accord is radically different. There is a ton of info on both of these swaps on the board already. Look in the engine swap section.

Thanks! Steve,
Seem the B20B is a better choice for me here, I'll read them further before I make it happened.

Keep in mind that a B20B will require custom mounts and unless you put a VTEC head on it makes it a pointless swap.

Yes, VTEC will be considered if swap to B20B, thanks for your reminding!

not tru steve, a b20b with some nice aftemarket cams can kill alot of the vtec motors. note, thats why they call them vtec killers. the b20b is basically a b18b with .2 more displacement, it has a little more tourgue and the heads supposely "flow better". most b20 swaps you need to use the b18b intakemanifold for clearance issues, but they do creat enought power, i really rather a b20b over a b16a

well if youre talking about motor building, you can't really say one is better than the other. sure one can be better to start with, but if youre gonna build up, it all depends on the money you have and the vision in your head. any motor can beat another motor. heck the a20 have the ability to beat some vtec bitches.

He never mentioned anything about performance parts. I'm talking stock for stock. Running a non-vtec motor with 9:1 compression isn't gonna beat a whole lot. Yeah, you've torque and 130-140 hp. I've raced a B18A Integra and fuckin raped him at the end of first gear. I don't think 200 cc would have really helped him.

even stock for stock, i would still take a b20b over a b16a, but thats just my opinion. and as for b20b vs b20a, its eisier and mor helpful to go with the b20b

If you're going to do all that work for a b series motor then just swap in a h22 vtec motor and get some bolt ons and you will be happy. Or go big and get it supercharged or turbo charged.

That way with the h-series motor vtec or non you're either going to have 160 hp base or 195hp (thought it was close to that for the vtec motor)

This brings me to a story (short version) This guy in town swapped in a non-vtec integra motor (b18?) And his car still can't beat my mildly modified non vtec prelude.

Get a really good motor so you won't want to get a better one later on.

hey steve, you dont have to have vtach to go fast y0! :kekeke:

but i'll have to agree a b20 isnt worth the effort with out a vtec head. it was made to haul around a clunky SUV, not a sporty sedan/coupe etc.

I know this. I was just pointing out the same thing you did.

Then why respond with a comment that is obviously meant to space an argument. :dunno:

As much as i like the B20A it has come to be a pain in my ass. This project has cost more than double what i could build a conventional b-series for. On the bright side my car is all original and from the short time it was running it seemed to be fast. I was going to drive it yesterday but i dont want to cause more damage than what is there already. So hopefully i get it taken care of this week and can give some of my own impressions myself.
