Here are some pictures from my Aerodeck Mentor in Japan. We get to know each other through internet message board in Japan. I was asking the member for some information about OE fog bracket and he offered me numorous information and I am now process of making my own. I will make the detail available when I finish making the bracket.

First off, he has four Aerodecks! - 2 working car and 2 for parts. To accomodate these cars, he has bought this house! So they are not in a GARAGE but in a ROOM!

Thanks guys, its good to know that you guys enjoyed the pictures. The longer OE optional front spoiler is very rare even in Japan. My mentor, I will call him Mr.S, says even it was not included in the OE optional parts catalogue published in June 1985(first release of CA Accord is June 1985 in Japan). Compare to that the rear spoiler/balancer is more common. The main problem is the number of the CA Accord in Japan is very limited - due to its age - and even worse, the aeordeck was not successfull commercially in 1980's. However, it pops up sometimes here and there - I have been asking if I can get some corner marker etc but no luck so far. I will let you know in the market place if I managed to get hold of it but I am living in UK so postage from Japan - UK - US might be a pain.

Those are some nice pics. Does he still own the car? I used to browse a Japanese Aerodeck fan site but I haven't seen any new posts since '02 probably meaning most of them have gotten rid of them. We used to e-mail back and forth for a while since he was really interested in USDM stuff LOL Another guy had a 5 speed 2.0SI and he was trying to get a factory manual for me (with no luck).

Kimura-san, yes he still owns all of these. He bought the 'House' only for Aerodeck and now he is planning to move into the 2nd floor of the house. He lives in Shikoku.

I have read your message on the Aerodeck Fan site, too. I know at least 5 people still keep CA Accord (in Japan 'CA Accord' is the way to call our car) but in general when an owner have a big trouble (radiator, roof water leak, crash etc.) they tend to send the car to junk yard because of the repair cost - in Japan any car older than 6 years old will be evaluated as zero yen in theory - like insurance or tax evaluation. So it is somehow natural that they give it up and move on. In that sense it is almost lunatic to keep old car like ours - yes I am lunatic haha.

There are still some bits and pieces pop up in Yahoo Auction in Japan but the trouble is that most of the seller don't ship to overseas due to language barrier. Only exception I have experienced was that the seller was a professional and he accept a deal without going through the Yahoo's system. But still I had to prepare cash in Japanese yen etc was a hussle. The service manuals are generally very difficult to buy in 80s due to the precaution for the illegal modification. If you are still looking for the factory manual in Japanese, I will check the Yahoo from time to time and we can do something out of it. Also there is a shop called 'Book Garage' in Tokyo and they tend to have these sort of book from time to time.

Oh my, oh my! That is so sweet! I've never seen that quarter blind and that front lip before. I cant believe it :omg:
I've seen the rear spoiler a couple times before here in Denmark though.
Damn, I would so much love to get that quarter blind and front lip!
Sweet find! Have you persuated him to join 3geez yet?

Edit: That's the first time I see pictures of your Aerodeck. It looks really good!

Shikoku? Probably a different guy I was talking to then. He really must love the car to go through the troubles of keeping them. So you saw my message the Aerodeck site? LOL. That must have been posted 4 or 5 years ago. I'm pretty sure I wrote it in Japanese but do you have some Japanese blood in you as well?

I never thought about Yahoo Auction. I usually browse around for movies, posters, games, and books I can't special order here in Canada. They all prefer payment on delivery or bank transfers so it's kind of tough. I can ask my friends in Japan to get it for me but only if it's somethng I really want badly.

I know all about the shaken and stuff they have to deal with. Owning a car in Japan isn't cheap. Whenever I go there, I usually pick up a copy of the car classifieds but if there are any 3rd gens listed on it (don't see many now a days), it's usually got expired shaken and selling for 10000yen. I'd buy it in a heartbeat but I wouldn't know what to do with it after I get it LOL

Yep, I had exactly the same idea you had - the front lip was a shock to me. And the quarter blind, what the hell is this!? Oh yeah, we have to find one, or may be we can make one? My mentor has seen 3geez site already and he was pretty impressed but you will have difficulty reading his Japanese  Thanks for your complement on my car - I have just finished 1st phase of mod - exhaust, suspension and brake. I will continue my mod further but I want to keep the stock appearance.

I didnt write all the detail about his car but the most dramatic one is that once the black CA2 went under high water after heavy rain. He stripped down completely and wash the body with water to remove the dirt and put back again with using other donor Aerodeck. Also engine was fully serviced after removing the water from cilynder! Oh and my blood is 100% Japanese but I live in UK since 1994.
If you type in CA Accord and search in Yahoo Auction in Japan you should get some parts for our car. Below is the link for non Japanese members...

Where did you buy the wheel? Mind you that the one in the pic is not original Hartge but very precise copy made in Japan.(we are good at that!) It looks great anyway.
About JDM parts, technically yes. In reality it is complex and expensive. When I went back to Japan last time, I have bought oilpan, front lower arms, most of the sus bush etc. and was caught by security check in the airport! Only the problem for me as non-pro buyer is that I have to present chasis number in any document - motor test certificate or registration document. Honda dealership is pretty tight sometime. If I know the exact parts number of the parts, things are easy. The problem is that I go back to Japan only every 1 to 2 years. I will let you know if I decide to go back next time. Asking my friends in Japan to buy and send the parts is possible but the postage and sending money to Japan is great pain - no paypal, creditcard is not accepted without signature and using cheque is uncommon over there.

Thanks for the link! They have a B20A ECU for an AT. Maybe something nice will popup once in a while. The guy you talk to isn't the owner of the Aerodeck site is he? It's nice to see someone really get into an older car. 80% of the people there consider older cars worthless and 90% don't work on their cars so someone like him is quite rare.

Like you mentioned to Carotman, it's not easy getting parts huh? It's not like in North America where you just walk in to a dealership and tell them what you want. Walking into a dealer service shop will get you no where as they just give you weird looks and tell you they can't help. I ordered stuff once through a friend who was a mechanic for Nissan but even then, it was kind of tough and took a while to get it. Shipping is expensive and paying when you are overseas is extremely difficult.

Nice to see another full blooded Japanese on here. I was born in Canada but my parents are from Japan and being the first son, i was raised the Japanese way LOL. Personality wise, I'm not quite Canadian, not quite Japanese so sometimes, I feel out of place in both countries.

YK86, I think Mr.S is not the owner or administrator of the Aerodeck site. But he has left some message on the message board where you did before. If you are interested in there are some message board for our car (in Japanese sorry mille).

The CA - 3rd gen Accord message board
http://mbspro8.uic.to/user/theCA.html

Aerodeck Club - where I got to know Mr.S
http://136.teacup.com/tayama/bbs2

Aerodeck Fan - I read your post
http://6817.teacup.com/accord/bbs

The owner of this shop is regular in 'The CA'.
At the moment, he is selling 3rd gen Vigor in cars for sale section.

About buying parts in Honda dealership, you may need to find a helpful one. In general, they became more relaxed than before due to bad economy - they want and need to sell more. On the other hand, it seems that they must check the chasis number for unti-theft and unti-illegal mod reason. What I did last time was listed up all the parts number I needed at Honda Virtual Pit (http://www.honda-vp.com/vpit/servlet/honda.Login1) and printed out in clear manner and explained I live in UK etc. and asked his favour descreetly with full respect and bowed to the machanic. :bowrofl:

Sending money is very expensive. The seller from the B20A A/T ECU in Yahoo Auction is the one I bought a parts from. He is pro and accepts cash in Japanese YEN and able to send the parts abroad. I asked him descreetly, again, and sent cash as recorded air mail (I dont know if it is safe though). He is specialised in classic Nissan Skyline but seems to have other cars occasionally. I asked him about side marker for you guys here but it was sold already.

I didn't realise that you are full blooded because your English doesnt have any accent at all! Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel as if I am a drifter or outsider, bohemian or nomado quite often. Good thing is that you know two cultures and that means your life is twice enjoyable - you can look through Yahoo Auction Japan as well as ebay.com

Oh! Thank you very much! I am delighted that there is someone I can share my taste with!

I used BBS mesh 3 piece wheels with my previous Aerodeck so this time I wanted something different. Also I didn't want to attract too much attention from others. So I tried to find one simillar to OE wheel cap but cheap one = OE optional wheel from either Honda or other make. I thought of Renault because simply I was driving Renault 5 before. I also like the decade matching - end 80's to biginning 90's design. I simurated on Photoshop with more than 20 wheels to decide this Renault Clio wheel.

The offset is around 36 to 38mm and with lowering spring, the wheel is just lined up with wheel arch. Before I lower the car, rear wheels look a bit, 1-2mm, sticking out.
