What do we have for choices to upgrade alternators? I'm running a fair system right now and I'm planning on upgrading but I know the stock alt wont be able to handle it. BTW What is the stock alt rated for? 48A?

Anyone? Are any other honda ones bolt on and provide more power output?

the stockl unit is only good for around 65 amps tops. I had a local shop change the windings and stators in mine for a 200 amp unit's guts (I dunno how to verify this anyways but it seems to work fine, it hasn't cooked like my old ones)

How much did that run you? And would it be something I can do myself if I do the research? Or is it too much and alternator shops specialize in it?

it can depend on a shop. try searching for a local shop around you. it will be the cheaper way. the alternators are heavy and the shipping will end up being expensive.

Do I just give them my alt and tell them I want XXX A output? or do I have to supply an alt that has XXX A output and see if they can cram it in there?
