Holy hell, that's a lot of miles in 5 months. I've seen bikes 2-3 years old with less than 5K. Of course, you're in a much warmer climate and have a longer riding season.

Anyway, my Accord has 201,7XX. I did the engine swap around 196,500.

Where in PA are you located?

syclinsam
04-06-2005, 12:42 PM
wow, i didn't read your location before now.

Home is outside of Wellsville, before Dillsburg PA about 1/2 hour from York
If you take rt. 74 north (toward carlisle / rt. 15) you drive right by my house.

i'm at school in Pittsburgh right now but I do get home on the weekends from time to time and during breaks.

Have you every used Platt's Auto Recyclers (Dover)? they were strictly honda (where I got most of my parts) but apparently they just closed.

Where do you go for your honda salvage parts?

That's cool. You're about the closest member to me. Next time you're home, you'll have to let me know and we can have a mini meet somewhere in Dover or something.

I never got parts at Platt's. They're selection is pretty limited in there and not many 3g's. If I do need parts, I usually go to Baughman's. There's usually plenty of cars to pick from. I don't go too often tho. Mainly buy new parts for my car. :sad2:

Sweet... I saw a mint condition 79' Accord CVCC driving towards Tampa Airport today. I stuck my head out the window and was screaming at the guy about having a totally kick ass car. I think he was scared. That thing didn't even have a spot of rust on it. It was metalic grey like my 84' Accord Hatchback. The car was immaculate. I also saw a mint condition 81' DMC-12 for sale down the road from where my car is. The window sticker said $19,500...wooow pricey but it was spotless including the leather interior. I also saw a late model Ferrari and a red Ford GT. Today was a great car watching day. Man if I had a nice little Gen 1 Accord hatcback I would Supercharge it, redo the suspension and go cross country rallying. Man hold on to your little Accord, that thing will be worth some major money in the fututre especially with low miles like that. :naughty:

I only brought the car about 4 days ago now, and i plan to keep hold of it for a bit.

Im still deciding if i will go ahead with the master plan in about a year... It involves a 5 spd, and either a B16 or a 2L prelude engine.... :P

I don't know if the car is in good shape with little miles and good body with little rust, it will be worth more stock. You have an EK1 CVCC right? I dunno I would do some serious homework before swaping on a 1st Gen. Not to undermind your efforts but it will be a vicious undertaking. I've yet to finish this 84'-88' swap and its alot of work even though the motor is a straight drop in mount wise. If you or someone your working with isn't a fuel injection/electrical expert I'd stay with carbs. Plus webers or other racing carbs will keep the 78's nostalgia alive.

If you haven't yet look at some of rjudgey's posts he could probably be a big help with his understanding of carbs and high performance headwork. A b16 might be small enough but I think you'll have a hard time fitting any 2.0L+ motor in there. By 2L Prelude do you mean the A20 or B20A5? cause pretty much everyone on here will vouch that the B20A5 is a big piece of garbage. If you are gonna go crazy you might consider something like this mid-engine set up: Its an 84-85 Civic with an Acura V6 in the back. It would be so badass to see an old 1st Gen Accord with a mid engine configuration.
