I don't think you will feel any performance gain. Anytime you replace old worn out parts it helps the car run better. So if you need it or are changing the timing belt then go for it.

It doesn't claim to add performance to the car. It says it's performs better than the stock pump. Either way, it's about the same price as a regular one so you might as well try it. Also, the water pump is driven by the alternator belt so you can change the timing belt separately from the water pump.

Stock cast iron pump? Our stock pump is aluminum... that and the guy lists it for 85-89 Accords... I don't see anything special about this auction.

What is there about any 3g water pump that could make it more performance then another unless it flows more or weighs less and based on the size of these how much weight loss? Are you using this vehicle for racing or driving? I've never had a problem with the Honda water pumps but as previously stated--cheap as a typical aftermarket--go for it!!!!

I'd like to see the fins/blades on the opposite end... but they don't have a pic.

yeah pics of the impeller would be good, the best type is the cast impeller much better flow the std ones with the bent steel impellers aren't as good. But if you want the best then blank off the water pump housing, and fit an electric water pump, you'll save from frictional loses and benefit from having a constant flow of water and no cavitiation of the water at high revs.

ive never seen anything but stamped impellers for accord pumps. An electric water pump would be nice but the reliability of such an item usually reserves it for race only.

I only use cast impellers... I had the bent tabs on my other accord but I swapped it once it gave out.

About the electric pump... where do you route the new lines to and from the pump unit?

a20... where do you get cast impeller pumps for the 3g? With an electric pump you put it inline in the radiator hose
