2nd annual MD meet

I've talked to a few members who attended the meet last year at the track in Boonsboro, MD. They said they'd be interested in another meet. Some discussion was had about where to have the meet and the track seems to be a popular place again. HostileJava and I should be able to run our cars this time unlike last year. :sad2: So we have decided to have the meet at Mason Dixon Dragway again. This will be on Saturday June 25th. You guys have plenty of time to request off work, etc. Everyone is welcome to take their car on the track and get times. It is a full 1/4 mile strip. If you'd like to throw in more suggestions of where to go instead of the track, your input would be greatly appreciated. Last years meet came together rather nicely with 8 3g's and about 20 members there. I'd like to see a similar turnout this year.

1. You much wear long pants and long sleave T-shirt or shirt.
2. if you are running faster than 13.99s you must have a helmet.
3. Bring money, since it cost to run. I think it was $15 last time. but i may be wrong. just bring $40 just in case.

Good idea. The rules are basically simple. No shorts or tank tops are allowed if you are racing. I'm going to bring a pair of pants along just to put on while racing. Also, if your car is faster than 13.99, you need a helmet.

James, I think they'll line us up against each other. Last year, they lined Alex and Sharky up next to each other but had to pull Sharky cause he had shorts on so Alex ran alone.

possibly...by then the mustang should be up and running...but ill probably get 17mpg downhill with the wind towards a magnet factory..and 400 miles...thats gonna be alot of gas. I also have to see about getting the time off from work..since the people i work for are the vacation nazis. I really wanna see how the car does at the track though..im sure all the details will fall into place once it gets closer

LALALA Nice to see everyone coming together again, wouldnt have known about it if Sabz hadnt informed me the other night, on the down side ive moved since the last meet and am farther away than i was before and im almost scared to take her on this journy again, last year went to hell in a hand basket on the way home, on the same not i make a 120 mile journy atleast once a week back to my home town and she seems to do good, just worried how my luck will run this time around, poor ol girl needs a new engine bad tired of seeing all the blue smoke and burning oil on long trips, ill see what i can do though.

Yes, you need to bring money to race your car. If you want to do that and get food, etc., I would bring 75 bucks or so with you just to be on the safe side. I forget how much it is to race. As far as time, I will be getting there around 11 AM. This way I have time to get through tech inspection and we can meet up before racing starts. And yes, you must wear long pants during your runs. Just wear shorts and bring sweat pants or something along and put those on quick before the racing.

His hatchie door will fit. Only problem is you have seatbelts on the door and that one doesn't. I'm not sure if you can swap the seatbelt over or not. Anyway, back on topic.

That's fine, let me work out a time to meet. The passenger door will fit like steve said, but the belts on the 86-87 mounted on the pillar not the door. Seems like it would be a real hastle to swap them.

Bring 70-75 bucks just to be safe. No, they will all kinds of cars there. This is an open test and tune session so a lot of different cars will be there.

yeah dude i thought it would run better but hey it prolly does but it was hot as hell and the first 60 ft were slick as hell!!! he kept spinnin all the way through till the 60 ft mark and then i dont know i stopped seein smoke after that but we figured the water in the burnout box was givin us shit traction so the last run we tried a burnout but steve said it ran better without it but hey it was 2:00 in the afternoon and the track was all caked up with rubber. so oh well it was a good day for all i guess and man i tell you what those damn snowmobiles!............sheesh! they are quick!!! i think i saw late 9's on the board but i know i saw early 11's on the last one i got a pic but friggin imageshack is down so ill get it up when i can. i dont have any pics of me runnin. ....its kind of hard to hold the camera and drive you know. but frankie and steve ought to have some
