View Full Version : i need engine specs on a20a5 engine

ok, i drive a 1987 accord EX-i, and it has the a20a5 motor, does anybody have specs on this motor, as far as i know its a uk motor or something...and all i can find specs on is a20a1 and a20a3, so if someone can help that would be a great start to me tuning my car, thanks.

Are you sure that it says A20A5? Doesnt it say A20A4 if you look real close? If so then you can find all specs on it in the shop manual which you can download from www.pauldesign.ru.

yea im almost positive theres no a20a5, a20a1 is US carb, a20a3 is US efi, a20a4 is european efi, dont bash me if im wrong thats the way ive understood it

my fault, i thought it said a20a5, but it says a205 on the tranny, so n/m thats my mistake, im not sure what it is, i suppose its the a20a3, well its whatever engine came in the EX-i, and im not exactly sure what it is.

it is the same as the a20a3 but it has 15 more horsepower 135@5500 rpms

No A20 has 135 hp from the factory.

135 sounds like quite alot stock hp for an a20 engine....

A20 is 120hp and 122tq sorry I just saw you have an 87 86-87 are 110hp not sure on tourqe 88-89 are 120hp and 122 tourqe these are FI models

i bet you read that on wiki....some one mest up. only the a20a4 came with like 122hp...because it has no emissions

So the Canadians got the A20A4 in the EXi? There is an EXi parked at this guys house in town. Been sitting there a while it looks, I was thinking about trying to buy it from him, or getting a friend to buy it. It's got California plates on it. Is there any other advantage the EXi might have over the LXi?

a20a1 develops 102-103 HP
a20a2 devlops 106 HP

b20a2 develops 137 HP
b20a8 develops 133-134HP

A20a1 and a2 is Carbet engines with 105 HP or so... and
A20a3 and a4 was PGM-FI with 122HP @ 166Nm
