i'm a fellow hatchie owner, but the search button makes a much better friend then me.

a quick run down on swaps:
b20a for the 86-89 accord jdm. hard to find motor, really hard to find in 5 speed.
b16's
b18's these will work but you'll need to custom alot of stuff, or search your ass off for stuff like harnesses and mounts. good luck.

of course you have an lxi, you can get some bseries part for that motor and it will pull pretty good. or consider turbo. good luck. like i said, use the search.

Steel block makes the stock engines a good bet for turboing
There are tons of threads on swapping, so have a look at them.
There was a thread on an H22 swap a couple of days ago that I'd have a look at; the shop might be worth giving a shout
Good luck man!

Well for now I'd start with beginner upgrades like a CAI (Cold air intake) and some Dc sports headers and a aftermarket exhaust you'll notice a big difference in power from stock. Then as time goes own you can upgrade from there.

The stock A20 block is made from cast iron...
