I'm not sure if anyone has done this, so i thought i would start a thread. I think i've seen one of these on my friend's IS300 a couple of years ago, and i was wondering how difficult it would be to hook something like that up.

i think it would take 3 guage readings. 1 would be the amount of fuel returned to the gas tank (assuming a constant amount is supplied) and the other would be the spedometer reading. but somehow you'd have to divide the speed by the fuel use rate.

any ideas?

You'd want to use a microprocessor like a PIC chip to input your signals to. From there it would do the calculations you needed and output a reading to a display device.
Best bet would be to find someone doing an electonics course and get them to do it for their project.

i'm not exactly sure how the system works, but i'd be willing to try it out in my own car... i've always liked those things... mroe for the novelty, but i do kinda like to see if i can adjust my driving and gain some mileage
