MSD Ignition ?'s

How should the power for the MSD ignition be wired? The 3geez howto says it should be switched via accessory +12 but the MSD instructions say to connect directly to the battery +12.

Which should I do? I'm asking because I am having a funky power drain problem and I am wondering where it could be coming from.

MSD SCI ignition box. it's wired directly to the battery right now.

well, you just answered your own question. unless the box has accessory wire, than it should never be on constant power.

i'd run it on a relay personally...

see, here is where i disagree with the how to.

the msd has two red wires, a thick one and a thin one. the thick wire can be connected to constant 12v. the thin wire should be connected to a switched 12v source. guess what, the yellow/black wire from the fuse box is a switched 12v source. so wire it just like the how diagram, but you can connect the thick red wire directly to your battery.

Im thinking there wanting voltage at the battery cuz you alt . is running higher than 12.7v (battery voltage) or it should. Usually at the fuse box you have less voltage due to voltage drops and all.

If you measure at your battery with the car running I get 14 volts.
