Yeah u got some pretty long gears there, dropping all the way below 6k every shift. U'd have to have a pretty low VTEC engagement to keep it from falling out. get a nice b16 trans and it will accelerate much easier.

Acttually they seem big, because he is reving to 8K. My Vtec on my GSR used to engage at 5100k and when I was shifting I never dropped below it.

At the time I did this swap I couldnt find a B16 tranny in good enough shape, so I had to go with this LS one. It seems like the vtec trannies always have bad synchros so thats why I have just kept this one. I have vtec set at 5200 and I have experimented with some other points, but the car seems to like this setting.

Hey 88LXi68 I am really looking for a almost pure drag car but, I don't want a trailor queen. I want to be able to drive it to the track. Right now I am about 99% sure that I will buy a 89-93 240sx HB with a RB26 dropped in it. My biggest goal is to run 10's or high 9's. I know that our cars are naturally light but they are fwd where as the 240's are rwd. With the setup that you have do you know how many horses you are pushing to the wheels? How about 1/4 or 1/8 mile times? If you don't wanna give them out publically you can pm me. I just wanna know if it would be a good drag car because I really do like the way it looks. Thanks

Definitely one of the worse things about vtec trannies is the synchros and the infamous 3rd grind. The car is still nice regardless!

It is a hot looking 3g accord and it moves but I've said it before and I will say it again. You need some juice to give it that xtra push. Once you get it, it will then move like it should!

On another note, is it me or it takes forever for the car to rev? I know you were gunning it.
