ok, i know there have been some hacks installed lately to the board... is this something that was just installed today? is there even a reason? i mean, what do the "ratings" mean?

:) lol

Vanilla Sky
04-13-2005, 09:18 PM
yeah, i don't get what it means... why does my score end up higher than about everybody else's?

I was looking at it. Longivity is how long person has been here since the board started percentage. The activity is the percentage to post/time since a member.

Just my $.02 :)

Vanilla Sky
04-13-2005, 09:32 PM
that's kind of what i figured, but how come the guys that have been around since the start of use over here have only 62%... matter of fact, i've not seen anybody with a higher percentage...

I basically shows who's established and who's a post whore (and who's both). :D

Vanilla Sky
04-13-2005, 09:35 PM
so i'm an established phose whore? also, reading the FAQs brings up another question, this one about "word blanking" where it says they can edit words out via a filter... i don't think i've seen anywhere that it has been done, or is this something that's being implemented soon?

88Accord-DX

I've seen higher longevity ratings, but not activity. :kekeke:

SteveDX89

Remember this forum started long ago on ezboard. That's probably where the longevity starts from. We just switched to this domain in 2002 so most people's join dates are probably in that year.

snow_man_20

started in april 02, didn't it??

3geez.com did. The forum has been around much longer than that tho. It was on EZboard twice and AutomotiveForums.com.

I think it is cool little feature. I want to see that history of 3geez I seen in another thread.

what? i still dont understand it
It is sort of algebra formula to who is established/post whore to put is simple.
Read post 5, that is how I see the math.

So does it take into account offtopic posts?

NXRacer
04-14-2005, 10:32 AM
its based on ALL posts.

Vanilla Sky
04-14-2005, 10:37 AM
hmmm... if it's based on postcount, then it's not based on all posts... not after a certain date, anyways... didn't all OT posts count up until when marc or joe cut the postcount in OT off? i know some of our old OT exclusive postwhores have fat post counts... look at nate and raunch...

BDaccordguy

Agreed, things are getting cluttered. Besides it's just another status symbol to add to your post count.

BTW, it can't just be based on post count since Steve and I both have the same Activity, he's got more Longevity, and less posts then I do.

and in making my 4,000th post something somewhat meaningful: i'd like to see marc or joe come on and tell us exactly why these ratings are here, and exactly how they car calculated (although derek seems to have the calculation right)...

88accordalltheway

I'm curious too, I had a thread in the foundation forum (you know, for foundation members, like all of you should be...) and I couldn't get (m)any answers.

some of us can't afford even that $15 a year... that or when we can afford the extra money, we buy something like a coke from the machine and spend all of the money on crap...

I'd have a great post rating, if 'off topic' counted up your posts, lol. I'm prolly a 1500 poster atleast.

Hear that mods?! You guys should give us our OT posts back!!!
