vacuum advance?

I've noticed a lot of people particuly with webers have disconnected the pipe for the vacuum ignition advance.
I understand that webers have a port each, meaning in this case it wouldnt work. but others w/o webers are doing it too.
I dont understand, what am i missing.
If the cars' out of tune, thats a minus rite?

my guess is, that without the vaccuum hose for the dist to change the timing. It would be fully advanced with no hose. i dont know anything about carbs so i guess if u asked in the carb tech, u would have more response.

ahh, now. I know its more of the carbs ive seen it on but, i'm actually f.i. now!
