Just got word today they are going to fix it! For a few weeks now it was supposed to see the boneyard! Sooo happy! FIRST I hit this curb, I know it sounds crazy but a bunny ran in front oy my car going thru this yeild, hit ice and went over a curb and bent the frame. Someone stole my muffler tip the other day...my underglows are also cashed now from going over that curb and I got a bullshit ticket for my black/red tails and my front clears! $135!! Then the car got into a hit and run, thus the damage there. All this happened over the course of maybe a month. :Owned2:

Man you need to buy a hooptie. That accord is way to sweet to be driving in the winter.

My condolences. A moment of silence ...

Wow, I feels like someone asking the widow for a date at a funeral, but ...

How did you manage to shave the side of the car (door panels, etc.) so perfectly? Too good looking to be a Bondo job, right. Did you weld in metal? Any tips on welding, I hear the door panel can warp if you're not careful.

TIA.

Looking forward to your pictures after the resurrection.

Peace.

Hahaha no, its legit, we welded a piece of metal in the big groove of the door which yes did warp it no matter what we did so we had to smooth it out as best we could, turned out better than we expected but could have done a better job if we had more time. added a bead to run with the line of the car. I can get other pics if you dont believe me, doors took forever to do.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind looking a some more pics. From the pics you posted, I can't even tell that it warped, you did a good job hiding it. And yeah, if I shave the side molding I will weld metal, then either fiberglass or bondo, before painting it over. Welding is the right way to do it, so I hear. I just looked at the pics, and said "Wow" I'd like to know how that was done!

I hear a lot of people give advice for shaving molding, but until you see how their car turned out, you don't know whether they are talking out of their hat. You pics look good, I don't see any wavy patterns. It looks good. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the reply.

Peace.

Thanks guys, I'm taking it to the shop on monday to get fixed. I found a few more pics of the doors I have on the computer, I never really bothered to take pics of them in the process. first the doors were stripped, then they were cleaned up of any rust. The holes in the door where the moldings clipped in were filled to try and prevent moisture and furthur rust from coming in behind the metal we welded into the big groove. I'm telling you that door will warp a bit, we had many wet rags cooling the metal and its still warped significantly. A lot of time went into making the doors straight. You really have to feel them to find the waves, some angles you can see them, there are very few like one or two. If we werent rushed last summer to get it painted we could have got them out...

good thing you have a urethane bodykit. it flexes and won't break apart like fiberglass. get it fixed man and no more snow driving in that thing! get a daily driver like i did. something under $2000, preferably honda since these are the only ones that still actually run good for that price/year. i'm planning on getting a little crx in mint condition someday.

Ahh i think there is a bit of a misunderstanding. used to have an 86 lx accord for the winter, thing died so i bought my dads 89 exi. heres a pic of the two, before winter last fall. I only took those pics of my car in the winter with the rims just because I just had it painted and wanted some pictures with my rims on I couldn't wait until spring!

88' Accord Ltd,

Are you still interested in the konis (Koni Group Buy)? If so, post to the Koni Group Buy thread. If not, let me know. :)

BTW: How does one go about "straightening the doors" after it warps? Maybe it's a dumb question, but I am clueless. :dunno:

TIA

Peace.

Some of your older low res photos looked like it was chopped but these new big pics makes me look like a dumb arse :uh:

Anyways good luck with the car.
