I recently picked up an engine out of a 86? Accord and was told it was a 2.0 stock. when the guy showed up at my place with it, the engine code wasnt A20A3, but BS. Thats all it said on the block was BS; and since it was only $50 i went ahead and took it. Btw, i also got a front bumper, lights and hardware for $10. What kinda engine is this damn thing? There arent any numbers on it just the BS letters. Help? :sadwave:

if i am not mistaken, the BS is actually the chasis code. someone help me there, but there are the bs on the bell housing and then the bell housing on the tranny there is a sticker that says something like A2Q5 or something...i may be wrong about the BS being a chasis code, but i think i remember reading that on a site somewhere

no, in your vin number is where your chassis code is it'll say JHMCA5.............. or 1HGCA6................, just a couple of examples. and my '87 is a A20A1

the BS and BT are the early designations of the A20 engine

BS is carb'd 86, and BT is EFI 86. or visa versa. lol.
