:wtf:
Well guys the H/B is running great, i found that i had crossed some vaccum lines up on reassembly :slap: she has great power and smooth as glass now
One thing is puzzling, and i searched for this but did not really find an answer
Before i did the top end rebuild the car would smoke on start up, for about 15 seconds pretty heavily, then clear up. This has not really concerned me due to the car having 200k on the clock, and only losing around 8-10 oz of oil between changes( 2800-3000 miles, depends on how it has been driven). I'm used to "small block" chevys and their junk valve stem seals billowing smoke, so this is no big deal to me. However, this is my wifes car, and following the rebuild it still does this, though not quite as bad.And now i'm hearing the " it still smokes, why is it still doing this, I just spent 600 bucks on a car that still smokes!!!!! :blah:
i had a full rebuild done on the head, grind valves and seats, all new guides installed, head "decked" for straightness
During reassembly i noticed the plastic tube that the pcv valve sits in was clogged, so i cleaned it out and instaslled a new valve.
I saw this tube ran down to what looks like an oil vapor separator. Is it possible that this is saturated because the valve was plugged shut.
Any how it isn't a big deal to me, but the wife is kinda fumed  :argue: :blah:
Any sugestions would be appreciated, like i said other than the smoke it runs great
