Picked up a carbon fiber hood today. From a fellow member, used he had it on his car maybe for a year. It's a Customcarbons hood, grade A. Fits very nice.
I didn't get home early enough tonight to get good pics, but I will and post them.

One is done and in primer :sad2: . Our guy is going in to get a new hip next week, so it may be another couple of weeks before they are both done and painted.
I'm trying not to push him because I don't have to pay for labor, just materials.

Sort of. The outer part of it has the "skeleton" but the inner section of it is open. But it does'nt move at freeway speeds, and I drive about 70 on the freeway.

Hey im glad you liked the hood man. The fit on your car was way better then when I installed it on mine. I think I only had it on my car for less then 6 months, so its almost new,haha. Your ride is looking better every time I see it, keep up the work man! I might have more parts for sale in the near future when I decide what im getting, so ill let you know!

welcome to the carbon fiber hood club. mine didn't have mounting holes for the original grill. that's nice yours did. mine was a b-grade with only minor scratches but that doesn't matter cus i wasn't sure how they fit and i was gonna paint and re-clearcoat the hood anyways.

i was gonna paint the sides of the hood same pearl white as the car and the middle hump left in carbon fiber. then i would airbrush an "iceman" mural on the middle of it... the same drawing i did for my avatar.

I suspect it works better for the seller that way. If there is a problem, they can refund your buying price. But no court will make them refund the shipping, so they scoop the difference between the shipping charge and the amount it actually costs them to ship the cf hood.

I wish VIS made cf hoods for us.

Does anyone know any sites to get a Carbon Fiber Hood for a 1987 Honda Accord LXi? My step dad backed the boat into my car and put a huge dent in the hood so I have to replace it. If I have to buy one anyways I my as well get a crbon fiber hood.

Most of them do. Mine had the latch riveted right on it.
