well in a way, but i found it cool as hell!

this 89 lx-i 5spd! yep 5spd came in to have rims balanced.
then my manager was like when i'm done to test drive.

now the only thing i know how to do in a stick is use 1st and reverse.
but i learn quick as hell.

and when i drove it..i did pretty good for the 1st time...i got up to 4th gear.
thats all..well besides killing a couple of cars with the legend...

lol sounds like you had fun, eventhough i was driving a manual with ease when i was 13, its still fun :P

now you should consider a 5spd swap

Awesome, I wish I had a five speed... then again i wish i could drive a manual, i really need to learn how to, never had the chance though, maybe ill convert mine to manual someday or even better buy a 5spd 3g!

how on earth did you even get up to 4th gear. That means you were driving fairly fast then.

well the lil' diagram on the knob helps....
plus...this is gonna sound stupid, my legend has s-mode, so i basically drove the 3g till it reached that point.

to be honest i have thought about doing a 5spd swap....but i don't wanna burn out the clucth or anything.

when i test drive cars before i work on them i'll run through the gears and back down. you can take it up to 5th usually at 30mph. helps to test if the clutch is slipping too.

i cruise around town between 30-35 in 4th, keeps the rpms down, saves gas :)

ive been riding dirtbikes since i was 4, so almost 12 years now. Basically when i first drove i used the same basic concept, only with my feet instead of my hands. I did alright, only killed it once, but i would get the rpms up around 3k and slowly let the clutch out to get going... wasnt the greatest, but i did pretty good for being 13 and my first time. Now i have problems starting out because of how much ive been driving my dads truck lol. 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel with a 5spd, and when you start out, you start in 2nd and you dont need to give it any gas, so i get used to that, then go and drive my car... and kill it all the time

i didn't teach myself, but my dad had a good philosophy. he taught each of us how to drive first on the 1988 diesel suburban, that was lifted. (beast of a car) and on our 88' camaro which was a 5spd. He said we should know how to drive stick and if we could drive & park the truck we could handle anything.
