i probably posted this but i forgot where it was but can someone help me with lowering these numbers? i took my car to a smog shop and the results came back sayin my PPMs was too high. does anyone know how i can lower them? at the same time my timing was off so im hopin that if i set my timing, those numbers should lower

ok, first off PPM stands for parts per million. there are several categories of numbers that would be on the smog certificate. a simple way to reduce overall emissions would be to replace the catalytic converter. I'm not sure if this would be the most inexpensive thing to do, but it would has a high likelyhood of taking care of your problem.

BTW where is fairfield? norcal or socal?

i thought the cat only helped with nitrogen or carbon compounds, not both. can't remember which it was.

getting a new O2 sensor wouldn't hurt either, and their pretty easy to replace and will save you gas. maybe getting your carb rebuild? i'm not too familiar with carbs...

see, when i got my results back it said my car n O2 was good. just my timing and NO (PPM) was the problems. so tommorow since im still in school ima do my timing in autoshop and hopin that the timing lowers those numbers.
