Has anyone tried to rechip the ECU? Does it even have a usable communication port to hookup a wideband 02 sensor to?
I have a spare ECU here and I'd like to give it a shot but I was wondering if I'm beating a dead horse here.

Should I just try to get another ECU in there?
What's a simple 0BD1 ecu that I can modify to run the accord (so I don't have to start drilling GM sensors into my block)

AFAIK you need at least a B-series engine to benefit from an ECU tuning. No one tunes the stock ECU (A-series engines). Plus, it's expensive as hell.
This is something the V-TEC people do, but no one caters to us AFAIK.
Peace.

what does AFAIK stand for?

AFAIK - As Far As I Know. Our cars use vacuum advanced distributors, so the ECU does not have electronic control of our spark. AFAIK though, it does control fuel. Check on PGMFI.org for more info. on OBD-0 ECUs.

All it has is the fuel maps. There might be a way to read the internal rom but there is no external dataport to connect anything to it which complicate things. You don't need a B series engine either to benefit from Ecu tuning either. The Accord/Prelude ECU are a little more complicated and this is why no one really got into them yet.

its a beeotch to mess with the pjo ecus, plus they dont have timing control, so your best off converting to obd-1

if these ecus controlled more than the fuel maps, then i could see in chipping them...
and i believe it has been hacked but didn't produce enough results to pursue...

OBD1 is what you want. No sense in trying to control a vacuum advance dizzy.
