wow...uhm..this is put right next to lamborghini doors. Just a question, does this mod give you less clearance on the opening cause that would suck considering I use my trunk for stuff (bodies, rims, etc) :)

yea iv seen pictures of that mod and iv always wondering about clearence for loading stuff in and out and what not, so yea do you lose/gain any room for loading by doing this?

no it does not add or delete from truck space it is only like that when you take the two bolts out if you dont put them oin you cant close the trunk because the trunk bace of the trunk pops up i will get some pics today and do alittle how to

If that picture is of the trunk lid in the fully raised position it does look like it gives you less vertical clearance when the trunk is open than with the lid normal. If you look from the bottom of the lights to the trunk that doesn't look like as much height as it should have with the trunk stock.

those trunks can be latched in the stock position with a bolt and a cotter pin so that it functions as normal. So when gettin groceries you can still get the food ( and the bodies lol) into the trunk just fine.

here are some pics of the hinge setup i decide to weld mine but you can use bolts and nuts to the bottom factory bolt will stay inplace so dont mess that hole up you will need it to beable to shut your trunk and have it stay closed once removed the truck will flip down it will take two people to do this project for the hinge go to a home improvement store (home depot or lows etc.) get the barn door type hinges they look like two triangles get a sturty set other wise the will bend remove the bolts to take the trunk off one side then bolt or weld on end to the hinge flat head bolt to the hinge then put the bottom bolt back in and bolt or weld the hinge to the trunk repeat for other side then get some pipe strapping and mesure frome the spring to the upper part or the car bend in 90 degree and screw to car for the tab to hold the truck up when flipped down

[editor's note: this is not to be rude, but intended to make 2dsei's information more accessible. hope it helps]

here are some pics of the hinge setup.

i decided to weld mine, but you can use nuts and bolts. the bottom factory bolt will stay in place, so don't mess that hole up; you'll need it to be able to shut your trunk and have it stay closed. once removed, the trunk will flip down.

it will take two people to do this project. for the hinge, go to a home improvement store (home depot, lowes, etc.). get the barn door type hinges--they look like two triangles. get a sturdy set, otherwise they will bend.

remove the bolts to take the trunk off one side, then bolt or weld one end to the hinge's flat head. then put the bottom bolt back in and weld the hinge to the trunk deck. repeat for the other side.

get some pipe strapping and measure from the spring to the upper part of the car. bend the piping 90 degrees and screw it to the car. this will hold the trunk up when flipped down.
