Some problem with the front lip at the moment. Now the driver side is finished too. We are still working on the Front lip. We still didn't find what to do for the rear bumper as lip... We will put a hood scoop too for the Dual Weber DCOM who will be on the B20A.

The guy who's working on my car did this 1991 accord too. It was for his daughter(another member of the Quebec Accord Club with me and Carotman)

What happened to the doors? In the primered pics they look nice and flush to the door. But in the final pics, they are indented (not flat and even with the rest of the door). Was this a planned decision, or did you use bondo/fiberglass and it "sunk" in.

I thought from the earlier pictures that you welded in metal strips.

Peace.

are you installing a new rear bumper? seems like the car will be lopsided with the new lip and nothing to drag the ass down ... attractively, of course!

A Delorean is an older sport car with gull wing doors. You can search for it on the net, but if you can remember it was featured on the Back to the Future movies.

It's made of aluminum and has no finish on it at all. The Accord looks just like it, which thinking about it now, it actully looks pretty cool.

Nice work with the fenders! Were they custom made or did you use a fender piece from another car? Making a custom bumper?

L3G10N
11-11-2005, 12:34 PM
they are custom made. For the front and rear bumper, i am using a budy club(rear) modded and a SF1(front) modded too to respect the shape of the car. Both bumper came for 90-93 accord.

Again, a little project update! This time, Front and Rear bumper!
The rear one is almost done. What's left to do is to cut the kind of tooth cause i hate this. After this, it will only need some minor touch up. The bumped needed a lot of work. As Hondaman87 told in his post, the bumper is 4" too long on the side. It come from a 4th gen Accord. But well, the rear one is almost done!

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/DSC01911.jpg
Now about the front one. He's on the car only to see what's needed to modify. He's not yet started! As you can see, he have a yellow tape. The part behind this tape need to be cut to give the car a great shape to the wing and let the 18" get in there easily. The front bumper is SOOOOOO round compared with the OEM one. So, it will be impossible to get the bumper "square" as the OEM. The corner light get almost over the bumper.... So, we will work to modify the bumper to get a bigger corner without destroying the general look of the bumper. Where you can see the horn, will be filled with a fog light. Can't be better than Hondaman87 did! (props to him as always!!!) There's A LOT of work to fit this 90-93 accord bumper there and keeping a great look. AS IS right now, the headlight can't close. The bumper get under the light too far.... Hondaman87, what did you do?!?!??! What have you changed to get this awesome look?!?!

Oh nothing just that your molesting that hatch in ways not ment to be is all..... But hey props for the work and effort your putting into it, being a fabber I know what it takes, I just dont get why people put big bulking, non matching body kits on their cars with 50 million air vents in them. You know with all those holes you just ruined and aerodynamics of the car, your forcing air into a brick wall..........But if you like it thats what matters. So again props for the work and effort. And good luck with your project.

as i can see, you have just post without any reading. :toilet:

the front bumper was supposed to be modded to respect the OEM look(square curves) but since to do that, it will cost me 2000$cdn, i just decided to mods the front bumper to get the better look i can get. As i wrote, AGAIN, and you don't even read, the bumper is on the car JUST TO SEE WHAT need to be changed on. And yet AGAIN, the hole of the bumper will be filled with a fog light. The only hole who won't be filled with anything except grill is the center. But.... wait, the OEM bumper have the same hole at the same place. Well, yeah, i am forcing air into a brick wall... just as Honda did it 20 years ago.

:Owned2:

Read the text dude. Don't reply after looking pics. Text can explain lots of stuff. And you are talking against newb on other post.... :wtf: You read just as 'em

Anyway, the topic is not about you, it's about the car itself and i know that this kind of mods is not for everyone. And I am really happy of this! in other ways... the world would be sooooooo boring.

No I'm not down talking your car, "to each there own" as been said manytimes before on this forum. I give you props for your work, and effort, and I hope it turns out well for you. Its just not my kind of cake.....And I did read the rest and from what I see well a picture is worth a thousand words....I saw your rear bumper and your side skirts I know where your going with it.........I cant post and say it looks good if I think it doesn't I was being nice and keeping to myself with the rice comments, and I still will so again I will comliment you on your hard work. Oh and BTW Honda had a team of 30 engineers designing the Accord, all vents are directed to the RADIATOR only, and as for the other two, they are either blocked, or fogs are installed. And if your using that bumper to see what it looks like, and I see it as a finished product on the car........bahhhh. Cant bullshit me, I see the 3m green masking tape on the wheel well where your going to cut it............

Wow. Looks great. The rear bumper is pretty big though... But i love how you made wider wheel flares.

Too bad that you can't shape the front bumper to the square-ish look of the car, though... Oh well, it should look better than most considering the side marker lights don't stick out over the front bumper because it's too round like some re-fitted body kits.

Never heard of ITB?

Better and simpler than carbs that require adjustments if it's raining outside.

carbs are cool, you spend 3 hours setting them in the afternoon at 25C and the car performs well. then at 18h00 the cars starts to go all jerky. the day after, the car won't start at 6h00 to go to work since there is humidity in the air. back from work at 16h, the car starts but run roughly since yesterday the atmospheric pressure was 2kpa lower than today.

the next weekend at the dragway with your "fully tuned carb's" the car sux ass and you are passed by a Lada running the stock 1.6 8v since the day is not sunny and it's only 20C outside and your engine runs too cold

yeah, carb's run fine... for the EXACT same conditions, you spend the rest of the time with a not-fully-tuned car or fine tuning it.

prefer FI, i can drive the car. even old CIS outperforms carbs.

ask a carb guy what is "fuel atomisation" and he'll look funny at you.

ITB is FI.

The car won't run under a rainy day. How boring to read since we already had this conversation a lot of time in the past...

Here's the only last pic of my car. This image is HUGE but it will let you see how the front wheel housing was so nicely done! I've put the taillight to see how big the rear bumper will look and let me tell you all, the rear look awesome! But I am Still scared about the front one :S

What's left now? Rear wing and paint :D

Hondaboy: maybe next year. Not sure. I will repaint 'em for another color but i'll ride 'em at least one year. The car cost me 4000$cdn more than i had expected. And the cumston B20A will cost me again another 4000$cdn. So, rims are not my priority for now. Engine will go first :)

Yeah its the streetfighter front bumper but its from a 90-93 integra. The bumper is not completely in because it needs to have some refiberglassing done around the area of the headlights. I'm not working on it myself its in the shop. I just stop by everyday to check the progress. But my friend Justin (The Asian Inside) its helping out with a lot of the work.

FINALLY!!! She's at the end of the body process. Paint is done. Still missing the rear wing but she will be on the car for sure in the end.

So, here's some pics for you allz!

So finally, first idea of color have changed. In the begening i wanted a kind of GunMetal with Red reflect. But considering a blue interior.... So, i;ve changed for HotHues GunMetal with a lot of metal flake. But The guy at the bodyshop told me to let him do what he was thinking the best for my car. So, he suggest me a Gloss Black. I was like: "we can see black car all around...." But he told me to wait to see the final product with his own touch. So, he painted the car Gloss Black.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/IMG_1135.jpg

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/IMG_1139.jpg

After seeing this, I was like, DAMN!!! This fit an 86 so perfectly! But the process wasn't finished. The car cannot stay just black like this.

So Matt follow his idea and here's the final result!

In the dark, she's black and dark!

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/IMG_1140.jpg

If we light on, we can see some white reflect on the body. Nah it's not the light itself and it's not a wall reflect!

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/IMG_1141.jpg

But what is this?

Gloss Black with White Pearled!!!!!!

We start to put the car on the towing.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/DSC02145.jpg

Like we tought, same if the car look like a truck, it's too low from the back. The back of the car can touch the ground easily.... but the front was OK since no engine is in the car.

The front doesn't please me as much as the rear unfortunately, but it still looks like a VERY nice car.

Like mentioned, stick with the second set of JDM corners.

Good luck with putting everything back together!

I say you go with the second set of corner lights. Seriosly that car is going to be sick when you put it all back together. Some deep dish wheels would really set that rear fender off.

my GF did a photoshop and i totally fall for a deep dish meshy style!!!

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b380/kiwispooner/WorkVSXXonHatch.jpg

Since those are totally OVERpriced, i was thinking about the 5zigen SC3000

http://www.5zigenusa.com/product/wheel/sports/images/sports_silver.jpg
http://www.5zigenusa.com/product/wheel/sports/images/blackc_275.jpg

This way, i could put a +35 offset on the rear and a +43 offset in the front...

What's turn me down... is the color... they are only avalaible in Hyperblack and HyperSilver. USA have the GlossyBlack. At least, this one could be sweet looking but... not avalaible for Canada............

the headlight still don't have the motor to keep it right. So, nothing is lined right. If you speak about the 86-87/88-89, the eyelid match the grill since they are both 86-87

yeah but not alot of people do it....i want to do mine but i would have to take off the tail lights...prep them and then shoot them with paint....then wait to cure and put it back in the car. and hope i didnt mess any thing up.

L3G10N
06-22-2007, 03:48 PM
Well, as I've already explained, it's not just VHT Red Tint Spray. A friend of my who do a lot of Professional Airbrush did 'em for me. He did the receipt of the paint too. If you look carefully, the orange part don't appear anymore. But if you remove the paint, it's still there.

It's definitly his receipt. And more, they have 2 shot of clear and are buffed 3 times. They cost me 110$cdn to made. I am really proud of 'em.

My Little bro tryed the VHT Paint and it's definitly not the same type. Mine look OEM not him.

As for the pics... i don't have any new except for the paint defect that i've found. I don't want to show her for the moment.

I go through a lot of problems too with the garage where the car is.... So, nothing have changed.....

Tnx for the comments. Trust me, as soon as something good append, I will post pics ;)

well guys, it look like the car will be repainted again.
One of my close friend bought a body shop.
He dreamed of working on my car from the start.
When all his things will be official, My baby is mooving into his bodyshop.
So i'll be able to work on my car as I like.

There was a lot of downside on my 10 000$ job. A lot of things was made wrong on the car too (wave in door shaving, crack in paint, etc etc)

So he decided to sponsorise me a new bodyjob/paint.

So, things will start over again.... Damn this body will have cost me WAY TOO MUCH!!!
Tnx to my friend who will do all the job on his own will and will only charge me paint and stuff at cost price.

So I am now looking for this color and redo my interior blue/black or all black.

Also, I know that thing is rare... but $630 for a valve cover?!?!

L3G10N
03-23-2010, 05:26 AM
the second valve cover is a 2nd version of the MF204(Dallara Cover). Still the same engine but they did something different on it.... I took it just for my own pleasure. I won't put it on any engine.

and 600$us, I paid 550$ to get it at home. Price could be less. It will depend on the adress.

By asking 600, I know that people who will contact me will be serious and i'll be able to readjust the price with the real shipping. I don't want to make money on it. But I don't want to loose a penny. That's why.

maybe I should explain this in my sale tread lol.

oh and price was 600, sorry for the typo error.

3 wheels on 4 were totally jammed.... I had to remove the brake pad from the driver's side front caliper.
Rear driver wheel were also jammed but easier to unjam(but damn my shoulder hurt now!!!)
Rear passenger wheel were and STILL is jammed.... Without the box to remove the nuts.... I can't hit the drum with the hammer....

L3G10N
04-11-2010, 06:48 PM
What a Shitty day lol
Woke up, go get the trailler and make my way to the garage.
Bring with me WD40 and the nut I needed to remove the Motegi.
Unjam the wheel, nice it's spinning again!! So I put 2 others 5zigen with bigger offset. Fitting/Look is PERFECT. SOOOO happy. Just like I imagined.

So we started pushing the car........ but it wasn't mooving again..... well, it was but, what a pain!!! There is still something in the way....
So we ended using a Chain block to pull the car on the trailler.

When time came to strap the front wheel on the trailler..... I found what was the problem..........:squint:

My Oversized wheel are..... too large.... Tire are on the upper arm. Literally.....
I just don't get why.... The 5zigen have a bigger offset than the Motegi (+43 For the 5zigen and +45 for the motegi) and same tire size on both wheel.

Motegi was spining freely.... not the 5zigen... So now I need to;
1- Add a spacer
2- put a smaller tire
or
3- enlarge the front fender AND add a spacer.

Well anyway, here is the car on the trailler ready to moove to its new place.

Next step, cleaning the car, remove everything I have into this car. There is a LOT of parts that came from some other cars from the first garage and are not mine. Put back windows and.... I don't know on what to start after... Direction/Suspension/Brake, engine bay/wirring or interior.....

It's great to see you starting back up on the hatch man.

Take one thing at a time and it will slowly come together.

Glad too see this project rolling again...Lets all pull together to scrounge up some hatch parts. You should make a list of what you need. Junkyards in Colorado are flooding with hatches. BTW what happened to your rear hatch glass?

I am taking your words!!

I need trims all around the windows with clip that hold it there (both side)

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/OUT-sidelining.png

Need the plastic around the liscence plate. I still have mine, but I have a broken part on it.
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/rearpart.png

the MORE URGENT part is this one: #13-15. I need BOTH side and I want it without any broken tab under. If anyone could find it new at honda, I am ready to pay the price. No matter the color. I'll get it repainted if needed.
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/INT-sidelining.png

I need #5-6 on this one. I still have one side, but Can't find the other one. I also need the complete rear rubber #1
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/int-hatch.png

And the last one, those will be harder to find... I need them to put back my backglass(was just removed at the bodyshop Bullard for your question.) Need all #15(still have it but ugly as hell)-30-32-36-37-38-44-45

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee89/l3g10n_photo/hatch86project/rearwindows.png

Again, if anyone could check at a local Honda Dealer, I'll HIGHLY prefer pay the price to get it brand new. If not, if people can help me finding them used, I'll be happy too :)

Alright cool.. I'm sure I have some of these parts lying around. If not I can pull them for you. I will check with the local Honda Dealership as well to see what they have...It will be next week though cause I'm on vacation right now. What year is your car? I know from replacing my rear quarter window that the glass and clips are different for the 86-87 and 88-89 models

L3G10N
05-25-2010, 07:12 AM
Oh really?
well mine is an 86.
But still, if you can't find anything for 86-87, i'll take the 88-89. I don't have any at all. So 88-89 will be better than nothing.

Tnx for the help buddy!

Cough cough

If you can find more rear trim clips bullard, I'll gladly take some. I don't need the glass clips, just the trim.

I have one #15, one #16 and eleven #38. They are brand new from Honda.

Here are the part numbers, respectively:
73251se0003
73252se0003
91507se0003

I paid $110 US for the two window moldings. I had them ordered from Japan by mistake. Dont remember how I got so many #38 though. If anyone's interested let me know.
