has anyone here trimmed their bumpstops when they lowered their car?
or is it better to have less suspension travel and just let them get mashed on?

You dont want that bumpstop to ever actually hit the top of the strut housing ideally. I suggest it is better you cut it and give it more suspension travel since you are lowering it . How low are you lowering it to need to cut the bumpstop? i didn't need to but I only have a 1inch drop.

just cut the bumpstop in half, that should do it.

With such short springs you're already getting on the low side for unshortened Konis. I'd leave most or all of the bump stop on to reduce the likelyhood of bottoming them out.
