alright.... stock.. 88.. LX... carbed...auto..96k..., nowthat that's outa the way... i put a new rotor, distributor cap... high performance wires... and NGK plugs.. that's about it... now.. my car is GREAT! AFTER and ONLY after it hit's 3ooo/rpm... now im looking for something that can shred a little rubber comming off the line.. is there any way to boost my low end torque? from a dead stop to floor i get maybe a "squeek" that's about it... i know that this is probably killing a good car... but im not just looking for a burnout beast... im seriously worried about getting stuck in traffic where i NEED to have a responsive takeoff or im screwed.. so basically i just wanna up the power between 0 and 3ooo/rpm... any tips? thanks!:banghead: :help:

Aftermarket headers might help a little bit with low end torque, but only a little bit. Pretty much the only way to get a good launch with a 2600ish pound car with a 2 liter engine is with a manual transmission.

an accel coil would help you get more spark at low rpm.

Hmm, I want to comment on headers. I had one. It did nothing for my low end what so ever. It did improve the mid range and move the point that the car's powerband died from 5500rpm's to redline, and thank god for that. It gave me more power in the mid range and in the highend, it was quite noticeable.

Do the mechanical secondary conversion.

if you do the manual secondary conversion, you must readjust the mixture. right now you are running on lean probbaly when you do the secondary conversion you will run very lean.
you will nottice millege drop but not much i lost about 20miles and i am running about rich.
i still think that the best way to go is get a weber. A20A1 should know how much diff he gain at low rpm with weber.

when i advanced my cam timing i lost a little on top end but now it'll burn pretty good at low ends and squat and take off. Just playing i advanced it the full 10 degrees and that car burned the tires all the way through first and caught a second. That was with my auto. 5spd swap should be complete in a week. (damned special order parts). Be careful ...10 degrees puts the valve really really really close to the head...either the intake or exhaust i'm not sure which one...but all the way advanced the car toped out at about 4.5k and wouldn't pull anymore

well a bmw engine would be awsome for ur low end torque. it has its peak torque at 1250 rpm. those bmw dudes are freaks i tell you. hehehehe,
