Hey folks, I've noticed there's a lot of Bay Area heads on this site.. why don't we get a thread going with recommended service shops and other spots like junkyards and whatnot?

For junk yards in the south bay it seems most people like the two Pick N Pulls in San jose

Pick n Pull
1065 Commercial St.
San Jose, CA 95112

Pick n Pull
1675 Monterey Rd
San Jose, CA 95112

Also there's Hondas Only Auto Dismantlers recommended in this thread (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=30574&highlight=3geez+heaven)
790 Comstock St
Santa Clara, CA 95054
(408) 727-2400

For tinting, I fully recommend Auto Mall Tint Specialists (http://automalltintfactory.com/) in Freemont, though you will pay more than other places.

I haven't seen many people recommending mechanics.. I found a few south bay Honda specialists online but have no idea of their quality. Do you know if Foreign Affair (http://www.fahonda.com/), W&K Automotive (http://www.wk-autoserv.com/conus.html), or Acura Honda Connection (http://www.ahconnection.com/) are any good? Foreign Affairs seems to have the most online recommendations. How about the dealerships, are they reliable?

Also feel free to add you recomendations for detailing or body shops or any spot 3geez owners might want to check out in the bay area :D

Also for pick n pulls, check the Newark, CA one. I found my rear disc brakes there as well as another SEi.

FWIW, i called up these three places to ask about their 30K mile maintenance, since im coming up on 120K

Foreign Affair was $460 and when I said 1988 accord he sounded kinda weirded out like it was rare for him to see an 88. W&K quoted me at $350 and the guy seemed pretty confident he knew what he was talking about. their website also specifically mentiones they handle "vintage" hondas. Acura Honda Connection was $325 for their service but it looks like they don't do as much service as W&K and foriegn affair. I think im gonna try out W&K

bumping this old thread since theres some actual bay area activity now :D

I ended up going to that W&K place and THEY SUCK they did hella work (ie hella $$$) but still didnt fix my overheating problem and i eventually had to sell the car for $200 cause it fucked up the head gasget and wouldnt pass smog

However, in the south bay I do recommend Motor Masters in downtown.. they're expensive as shit but they do an excellent job and customer service is A++

I also recommend Wheel Works on 1st street. nice guys and reasonable prices for tires and related stuff

And then.. there's the Pico Shop which destroys all others :D

PICK-N-PULL / FAIRFIELD. 4659 Airbase Pkwy
buttloads of 3gees here, for those around fairfield/vallejo.

i avoid shops like the plague because i've never found one that really does a job i'm happy with. Openloop had their performance shop in San Francisco, but sadly, no more.

As far as shops go, I like Precision in Pleasanton. Not the cheapest, but they do good work.

There is also PR Motorsports in Hayward, but the jury is still out on them.
