has anyone ever done this? i figured i would use this thread instead of starting a new one. I know on the hatchs it's a one piece lexan cover, I know how to bend lexan with a heat gun and lots of clamps, i thought about some red tinted plexi and clear difuser underneath. found the lexan, expensive though. would make nice all red tail lights.

I found translucent red polycarbonate ,it's just expensive. the main thing would be making the clear diffuser for the turn signal on the corner. you make everything clear, use the factory bulbs, then the polycarbonate cover provides the red.

I might not know what you need, but I'd think some thrift store somewhere has an old lexan tub you could melt down. Dig in the dumpsters behind any restaurant and you're likely to find a broken one. Maybe scavenge eBay for a used one?

has to be optical translucent red for it to look decent, usually if you want to bend something has to be about 1/8 or thinner. the translucent red is out there just expensive is all. going to be something in the future, way to many projects going to start on that one.

I believe this is the prismatic diffuser like whats inside of the lights, they have it in a hard non yellowing clear, which is what would need to inside of the lights http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Lighting_Diffusers;jsessionid=0a010b431f4379f1d125 44574e919931e0502692b6a2.e3eSc38LcheTe34Pa38Ta38Tb 350

The coupe tails are a lil tricky because of the piece thats molded to the tail lights. I never got around to making those. Sorry dude. I don't know maybe YK86 can help you out though

Ive been looking at getting these for a while now. price was 45$ for the set plus shipping. Now its cut in half, looks like they havnt sold to many. As far as i can make out they are the set of 4. But i would suggest calling before you order and make sure it come w/ trunk tails too.
