Any one try the new Falken Azenis Sports

Anyone try the new ones. I cant really find the old ones any more and its tire time.

Friend tried them and he says he loves them. The only thing that he doesn't like is the tire is now a tad more expensive and it ruins the bang for buck deal. Shame you don't live in the bay area. There are a few sets of old versions sitting on the tire rack.

Yeah there $96 now thats really close to the toyo tire price I might try them instead.

almost all street. I hit tr.129 (dragons den) deals gap quite a bit so I dont want to show my ass up there. I run the 205/50/ 15 btw.

I m running the Excsta MX currently but they last as long as the Falkens and dont have as much grip.

I try to keep the tread wear around 200 or so.

The kuhmos have a better carcas(stiffer) and the falkens have better grip they way I feel.

My friends' dad put the new Azenis on his R32 GTR and he loves them... they seem to have made a huge difference in the handling of the car.

Well, I have heard the new Azenis sacrifice a bit of dry traction for quite a bit more wet traction vs. the old Azenis Sports. The R-S2's can be had a Discount Tire Direct right now for about $300/set and I have heard nothing but good things about them from guys who run STS (my new class) at the local autox. Another tire to consider would be the Yokohama Advan A043 which comes as the stock tire for the MR2 Spider and seems to stick like glue. And for those really scrapin' for change, the Sumitomo HTR-Z has a sticky compound, but I have heard their all-seasonish tread hurts it a little over the other tires on dry traction. They can be had at Tire rack for under $60/each though.

I have, and still have a set of the old RT215s Azenis and I have the new RT615s both in 205/50/15 the old ones did pretty well in the wet traction I thought and were glue in dry. The new 615s are still sticky on dry but not as sticky, I think, but the wet handling is vastley improved there are corners that I will take at 45 in the rain I never would have taken with the 215s on. Right now I ahve BFG Tractions on (very good all season tire factory 195/60/15).
