Compatible Distributors?

Hey all. I will soon be searching for a distributor for my 86 LX-i and I'm wondering how many years and in what cars (i.e. will Preludes also have them?) the same type of distributor was used. I'd like to know what range of cars I can seach when I'm at the salvage yard.
