Just curious, because if I'm going 60mph, and I stand on the pedal, the car stops ..... not very well...but it does stop... but it doesn't ever lock them up. The pedal isn't mushy, and I don't think I have any air in my lines.... so I'm trying to see if anyone else's accord is like this....

if i did that my brakes would lock up for sure. What size rim do you have on there if it isnt stock? sounds like theres somthing wrong with the caliper, if not the fluid. Maybe the master cy.

huh. Weird. It's a stock honda accord. I think I'm going to bleed them and put in new fluid pretty soon.

i always thought my brakes were bad, and would never lock up, but there was one week where i had to do a couple panic stops, and they locked up just fine... made me realize i need better tires lol, cause i wasnt slowing all that fast! :)

made me realize i need better tires lol

...and better wheels, and better motor and..... hahahaha

My 3g would lock up just fine. They weren't great for long sustained drives (like 1.5 hours solid worth of windy roads) and the pedal would start to get a little soft, but in every day driving I had no problems.

I lock up 15inch rims.. It also depends on tires. The braking limit of my Bridgestone tires are alot higher than some cheap eco tire you get at Costco.

The car should be able to lock up though.

nice.... cocksucker.... i should ban you.... oh wait! ;-)

im trying to convince myself to NOT buy these:

wheels: http://216.7.191.166/Products.aspx?CategoryId=1285&ProductId=5629
tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVS+ES100&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=04WR7ES100&fromCompare1=yes&place=22

13" drags: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hoosier&tireModel=R3S04

only problem is thats about $1000 to get a pair of slicks, and for yoks for the 17's..

unforntunately my credit limit was just raised, so its more tempting lol

i think justin locked his up at 70mph or something like that. But sure as hell you should be able to lock up ur tires if you are standing on ur brakes doing 60mph. CHeck your pads and see if they are glazed. Chepo $20 pads are not happy with heat and all they do is get their surface melted/glazed and all they do is just slip so u aint gonna lock up ur brakes but just keep heating up the rotor and finally warping them. I use nothing but Morse Ceramic pads (used to be $37, now its $48) from autozone and its the best i have ever used. no dust and even with the brakes smoking, shit stops on a dime. but i do have cheap ass $10 rotors, but oh well, they dont warp cause of the pads, so i guess im good. but if i could, i would defenitely get the Brembo rotors and axxis or aem pads if i was you.

if your calipers and master cylinder is in top notch shape you should be able to lock up brakes with no problem.

I've never had any trouble locking the 16" rims on my sei up. Of course I've never had to do it above 70 so I can't speak for faster speeds.

Hehe, before I put on new pads and flushed the brake fluid, I could stand on mine at 30 and they'd never lock - so I figured my car had anti-lock brakes. Now that that stuff is new, it'll lock up just fine, and I realize that my brakes were just in rather poor condition.

My accord locked brakes all the time... like the one time in the rain that they locked up... and I hit an 04 Camry... and totaled my car. :(

My SE-i is that way. They work - but I doubt they'd lock up. I replaced the rear calipers and pads because my emergency brake would not hold the car - the lever on one caliper was froze-up. My ebrake is a little better but over all breaking only slightly improved. I'm pretty sure it's my master cylinder...front calipers are only a couple years old (according to previous owner). Bled new fluid into it....
