anyone's crank ever just snapped in half? i took my oil pan off last month and i noticed a small brown colored pin at the bottom, then a week later my crank snaps.i,ve since changed the motor and it's running like new but i want to know what that pin was.also i wasn't being hard on the engine,i had just changed the oil and there was nothing else wrong.by the way i have some engine parts that are still good(head, pistons, block)

that was the "magic hold the crank together pin"

really, though, That pin could have been anything. were there parts missing from any other part of the engine? pistons? etc?

that's very odd. I've never heard of a honda crank just falling apart like that.

Like 700bhp.

Was it a clear snap or what?

it was a clean crack at the #2 piston rod on the bottom of the counterweight

what do the pistons and the bearings look like? are they eaten up?
