Honda part number for the secondary fuel filter for a carbed '87 Accord is 16235-PH1-013.

Because of it's age, no dealers in my area carry it.

I've always used the dealer part because every after market secondary filter I ever bought had a stem pipe that was smaller than the factory part. The hose fit way too loose.

It's been awhile since I've looked at the after-market and was wondering if anyone has had success using a particular after-market secondary fuel filter...ie...NAPA, Auto Zone, etc.

Thanks.

CLEAR SPECTRE OR FRAM GLASS FUEL FILTERS WORK FINE, THEY COME WITH DIFFERENT SIZED FITTINGS, USE THE 5/16" ONES. yoU CAN ALSO JUST BUY FILTER ELEMENT REFILLS, IT'S CHEAPER AND YOU CAN SEE WHEN IT'S CLOGGED

I used a clear filter from Napa and havn't had a problem. Use a few hose clamps and you shouldn't have a problem. It would also be a good idea to change the one by the tank if your car is a DX/LX.

I dunno, but if you replace your filter make sure it's for EFI.

The fuel filter for the EFi Accords is on the firewall, passenger side. It is a (usually) black can held to the firewall by a bracket that has two fuel lines coming off of it.

Turns out that NAPAs secondary fuel filter fit just fine and that's a good thing.

My local Honda dealers no longer stock tune-up parts for these cars. Takes 3 days to a week to special order any of these items.
