I am replacing my receiver jar and o-rings on the discharge hose and condeser hose. Does anyone know where the oil is in our systems. In the compressor or receiver jar etc. Will I need to add more oil when I replace the receiver jar?

If you opened up the system and there is no more pressure in the lines, your going to put back to (PAG?) oil back in through the compressor, if your using R134a. Im pretty sure thats not needed with R12.

Honda manual advises:

Add refrigerant oil after replacing the ffollowing parts:
Condenser..........30cc (1fl oz)
Evaporator..........30cc (1fl oz)
Line or hose........10cc (1/3 fl oz)
Receiver..............10cc (1/3 fl oz)
Compressor..........When a new compressor is installed, drain 30cc (1 fl oz) of refrigerant oil out the suction fitting on the compressor, unless you are also replacing any of the above parts. Then pro-rate the amount you drain by the amount you should add for the other part(s).

This word for word, hope it helps.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed.

I always pour it into the compressor. It'll mix as it circulates
