factory airbox

I just bought an 89 aerodeck 2.0exi, I want to remove the airbox and ducting and replace it with a good aftermarket filter and CAI. The airbox is fixed behind the intake manifold and has a few things connected to it, (I presume they are something to do with airflow/temp meters) do i have to re-route these after I remove the airbox, or will the efi work without them? thanks.

I think that you are talking about the vac lines. The way i did mine was just drill 2 holes in my intake and put the lines in my intake then sealed them with apoxy. http://photobucket.com/albums/b76/Slipknotcraig133/?action=view&current=ColdAir.jpg you can see how i did it in that picture.
