The quality isn't so good because it was raining today and the light conditions were odd.

Enjoy!

On that one, you can see the big plenum and short straight runners!

does your butt dyno feel any more power?

nice! Hey you still dont have my old header on yet?

carotman
07-22-2005, 05:09 PM
Nah, the header isn't installed yet... I had some little bugs to fix and I have other cars to take care of.

The butt dyno definetly felt a nice power increase in the upepr rpms.

sweet engine man! props!

Carot man i dont know much bout engines, but I think I see a Ignition AMplifier on your car,,, Ive been wantin to get one on my car Lx 89Carb,, think it be worth it?

wtf frankie, that avatar is nice.

damn. PM me the full sized version if you have it still!

edit: oh yeah, that intake manifold looks great. is there something similarly short compatible with an a20? the b16 manifold is pretty long.

The B20A and A20A share the exact same manifold. So the manifold I have will fit an A20A.

It's an EdelBrock manifold made for the B16A and B18C5

That looks awesome... is it any specific series, i thought edelbrock had a few different manifolds.

Lookin good! Have you worked out the EGR?

carotman
07-23-2005, 03:45 AM
The intake is the early Victor X series (It's labeled JG Edelbrock).

I didn't do anything for the EGR yet. We don't have any kind of car inspection but they might come in the near future. I don't know if they will say anything about the EGR. If this happens, I might just reinstall the OEM manifold and install an EGR fitting on the JG manifold. It would be a bit complicated to do but not impossible.

thats the first thing that cought my eye lol...

anyways the manifold looks sweet!

But doesnt your engine light turn on because you dont have the EGR lift sensor hooked up?
I'm having that problem at the moment because I'm using the B20A2 intake mani with the JDM PH3 ecu which requires EGR. I'm not sure if the ECU goes into failsafe mode when the light turns on but I suspect so.

I dont have that problem using the AEM EMS :) :) :)

The intake manifold is a nice upgrade for the B20A for sure.

I still have the EGR hooked up to the ECU. The valve and solenoids are all there. It's just doing nothing but the ECU thinks it's still there so I everything's fine.

If you need help to hook-up the EGR, send me a PM, I'll help you out.

What PH3 ECU are you actually running? The 86-87 or the 88-89? I wish I could get a 88-89 ecu :(

Looking good. Looks like your negative battery cable is stretched pretty tight tho.

Yeah heh. Actually it's not that bad. It just bends this way but it's got some loose down there. I might upgrade it in the near future.

Haha I saw frankies avatar in another thread and I was like "he must be a new guy" I would remember a hot girl w/ a hot ass. Then I see that he's been a member for almost a year.
Anyways Damn you and your b20!!! looks really nice though.
Not to be a thread whore but what exactly is EGR??

exhaust gas recirculation... when your engine isn't accelerating, it recirculates exhaust back into the combustion chamber to reduce nox emissions

when your engine isn't accelerating

never heard of it! ;-)

hey carotman. i have read threads on the b-series manifold modifiaction, but im a bit confuzzled, i have a spare b16a2 manifold, and lining it up to an a20 gasket (for hole locations) it looks like the 3 middle upper holes need to be redrilled, and block off the water jacket port. BUT it looks like it might not even be possible to drill the holes out because of the meat on the other side of the flange. did you happen to take any pics of hte modifications you did to the manifold nad where u drilled the holes? im about to jump on a skunk2 IM off ebay, instead of my stock b16 manifold. but i need ot make sure there is no problem, especially with teh aftermarket manifolds. :)

also, what are you useing for a gasket, the a20 gasket barely fits the ports of the b series oem manifold, are you using a bseries gasket that you trimmed and punched holes in?

A bit off topic but:
Ph3, EGR, ECU, EMS, AEM, wtf idk what half of those are..(i know AEM and ECU)
Brief explanation please?

EGR has already been explained
PH3 = the ECU serial number
EMS = engine management system
