A lot of the pictures were taken with my nokia camera phone, that's why some of them are blurry.

Here's some before pictures of the car, the paint looks really faded but it wasnt it's just the camera.

Here you can see the dent in the front right fender. It was there when I bought the car. And yes, wheel gap is definately present.

You can even see my old EX-i... Piece of rust lol

Well, the car had some minor rust spots on the lower left doors, the rear fenders and at the end of the door panels in the rear. Everything was pretty minor, but if you dont fix minor things like that things will develop very fast here in Denmark, because we are close to the sea and they use salt on the roads in the winter.
So I decided to get it fixed good and then get it painted afterwards.

These pics are from when the rust had been taken care of and I was taking everything apart so it was ready to go to the painter.

You can see that where the turn signals normally sit, the fender has been welded shut. Here you can also see that the dent in the fender has been straightened out.

Nice rims huh

In the meantime I also decided that I needed some JDM B20A engines, so I went and picked up two of them along with an 86-87 B20A ecu (PH3). I wanted to have one for my Aerodeck and still be able to have one in spare that's why I bought both of them.

There's one 86-87 goldtop and one 88-89 blacktop. There's no transmissions but I can source those at the junkyards.

Here it is, back from the paint shop. I didnt get the hood, the roof, the bumpers and the trunk lid painted since I have plans for the hood and the trunk lid and the roof didnt need painting.

In these pictures I'm in the process of converting the engine from vacuum advance igntion to electronic ignition by using parts from one of the JDM B20A engines and the JDM ECU. I ran some shielded wire from the ecu to the crank sensor in the distributor and to the oxygen sensor. These things wasnt present on my euro B20A2 engine and they require shielde wire.

http://home.tiscali.dk/uplort/Accord/billede(348).jpg

http://home.tiscali.dk/uplort/Accord/billede(349).jpg

I thought I could use the existing CYL and TDC sensor located on the exhaust cam on the B20A2, but the ignition would get all srewed up that way so I changed that as well so I used all three sensors from the JDM B20A engine. I also changed the exhaust manifold to a JDM one with oxygen sensor.
An igniter from a 2nd gen Accord was added and placed in the black box and I also installed a timing adjustment plug that I mounted on the outside of the black box looking like it was from the factory.

Here it is all back together again. I replaced the dummy lense reflectors by the headlights with JDM turnsignals, they look so much better. That's why I had the turn signals shaved in the fenders.
The door handles was also painted silver.
Before all this I also lowered it with 40mm lowering springs and red Koni struts front and rear, and I purchased som 17" Kosei Sniper rims.

I forgot to put on the 2.0i-16 badge :slap:

Well that's about it for now, but here's some pics of some other stuff that's on it's way:

I welded on some eye lids (bad look) on a spare hood that I had. It just needs to get painted.

http://home.tiscali.dk/uplort/Accord/hood1.jpg

http://home.tiscali.dk/uplort/Accord/hood2.jpg

Some digital gauge cluster testing. I only need the fuel level unit to be able to complete it.

Other stuff is in the works as well so stay tuned.

That's really a niiiice car. I love the black interior. The JDM turn signals really look better than the Euro ones.

I'm sure that the electronic ignition was a nice upgrade mated with the JDM ECU.

I see that you were also able to get the ECU for the digital gauges you bastard!!! (black triangle thing under the working cluster).

Where did you get it? I've been searching for this for almost a year (even mailed strong honda a couple of times) You wouldn't happen to have a spare one would you?

Hehe yea, it'll be sweet.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

carotman, I got the gauges from a contact in NZ. Before that I was also in contact with Strong for Honda, even had them promise to contact me if they ever saw any digi gauge parts :) But how many parts do you need to finish yours?
There's actually quite alot of parts involved to get it working. But no spare ECU unfortunately.

SataniC, these gauges are from a 3rd gen Accord, they are just pretty rare.

Busted_Blue, most of the parts I've purchased from far away. So just get off your lazy ass and get into action

Legend_Master, it takes the same to work in a USDM 3gee as it takes to work in a EDM 3gee.

damn dane, sell me one of those b20a's with a 5 spd. sell me your blacktop. i like the color choice you picked to repaint your car. silver paint makes for a really sharp 3gee. awesome project you got going. wish b20a's were easy to come by around here. let me know if you are able to sell some from there.

So I went out and bought 2 JDM b20a
That cracked me up. He says it like it ain't no thang! And yes Japan still hates us. They say they're over the whole bombing the crap out of them but, in all actuality they're not! :) It's they're secret way to stick it to the man

They were available in the Asian market / Japanese market. Only in the B20A automatic CA3 Accords and CA3 Vigors I believe. And I think it was accompanied by the digital climate control if you had digi gauges.
The digital gauge cluster is also in the europeran shop manual, but I've never seen an Accord in europe with it and it's not included in the european parts catalogue either.

Thanks, I had it painted with the stock color code. I have no experience in shipping large things like an engine, and as far as my knowledge goes, these two JDM B20A's are the only one's in this country. Otherwise it's EDM B20A's with 137hp's.

aww that sux...any idea where i can look for low mileage JDM b20a's. i know they are out there somewhere just as much as other japanese engines. it's just that they never have them available to ship here cus the engine importers didn't realize it fits in the 3gee over here and the demand was low since not many 3gee'ers know about it except those in this website (go 3geez.com! ).

anyways, looks like all you need are some JDM power folding mirrors and you are set in the JDM department! any chance you can find more digi clusters and jdm taillights? think you can sell/ship some over here? i love my indiglo guages but digital is much much cooler!.

must be nice to be able to just go and "pick up" a couple of B20A engines like that.
Car looks good though. Obviously I'm a fan of the silver/black combo.
I like the ideas of all the projects you have going. Keep up the good work!

It's not installed yet, so I cant do that yet. But I'll see if I can do it when I get it installed. Still need to figure out how to adapt the RHD gauge cover to my LHD dash.

Use a fiberglass, paint it mat black and youre done...
I know its much work, but hey... youre the CA5/3 master for Europe for me.
All that I can say... Respect !!

I've got long way to go, to reach to you.
Hope You will be my master ;-) but I think I'll go for EDM B20A.

only thing I want to correct.
The Digital Cluster was also in cars with Manual transmision and no climate control. Climate control could be with a normal dash , but with digital too.
I've got pics of an Aerodeck JDM with manual b20a digi cluster and no climate control, also ive seen pictures of an auto ca3 with climate control but no digital cluster.

Hehe thanks man, but I still have a very long list of things I want to get done. I found out how to make the gauge cover work though without cutting any visible parts. I just need to get it painted the same color as the dash and figure out how to make room for all of the wire loom behind the gauge cover.

Yea after seing the pics you posted I realized what you've just said. What I believed before was based on the info I've found through looking in the Japanese parts catalogue.
