I am down to picking a gaming system for the accord. I would like to get a ps2, but they are almost 300$ and I hate to spend that kind of money for a system that will be in my car 24/7. Right now I am running a ps1 but I would like to change to a dreamcast. Does anyone have a dreamcast and know if it woud be worth it over the ps1? I have played dreamcast, but not long enough to get a hardcore opinion of it. Any ideas?!

you can pick up a used dreamcast for 50 bucks or less. it might be worth buying just to see if you like it. if not, its still a pretty cool system. ps2 would have more game support, but my personal choice would be XBOX. even though i hate microsoft

PsOne. It's tiny as hell, doesn't need a power inverter and is rather cheap. There are also hundreds of games for it, including Gran Turismo 2.

Yeah, the xbox seems cool, but to keep that kind money in a car isnt cool, thats why I think I am going to buy a dream cast, then I can play virtua tennis, that game owns :)

And yasu, I was thinking about running an nintendo 1.......but thats to f'in high tech, and using the floor pad would be hard in the accord. :lol

yeah, virtua tennis does own all. my vote is with the dreamcast. cheap, and you can copy games without using a mod chip, not that i endorse that or anything...

My first choice would be a Atari. You can play Cenapied, Mario Brothers, and Space Invaders. But if thats a little too high tech Id get a PS2.

Sell it to me! To put it into a price category..tonight I tried to bid on a ps2.......it went for $46.00 with nba 2k1, baseball 2k1, virtua tennis and some other game.

I bid $41.00......I was PISSED.

If you can get a pre- december '99 Dreamcast and score a copy of the old bleem!, you can copy playstation 1 games and burn them to cd's and play them on the dreamcast.

So, for a $70 system, and the price of some blanks, you'd have tons of awesome dreamcast games and the entire ps1 library.

How do you play Dreamcast while you're driving?

that's why there is a pause button, for when you come to stop lights

Seriously, for all of us college students who have to wait an hour or more between classes, thats a cool way to pass the time..

It's also good when you are at work, and your PS1 just happens to be small enough to cart in your laptop bag...course, what do I know.

Oh, on the bleem! thing: forget it. They never got it completely optimized to play all the PSx games. They have special versions optimized for each game, for GT2, and two other games I forget.

If you want to download games, check on Usenet at alt.binaries.dreamcast - you can also download the ROMS there for the emulators. I got emu's and ROM sets for Nintendo, SNES, Sega Masters System, Genesis, Saturn, and a very bad N64 one.

Course, I could be wrong :p
