Recently I have had a problem of oil burning on the outside of the engine manifold. When I opened the air cleaner there was an oil and water mixture that had backed up into the outside edge of the cleaner, and leaked down to the manifold. I am also having a problem with my water level dropping. There was no water in the radiator and when I filled it and left the cap on loosely so the pressure wouldn’t build up, I still lost a good amount of water driving home. If it is the head gasket, how hard is it to replace?

1. Drain the coolant & engine oil.
2. Fuel injected models, releive the fuel pressure.
3. Remove the exhaust manifold.
4. Remove the timing belt & cam sprocket.
5. Remove the camshaft & rockers.
6. Label all the hoses, wires, cables, ect.
7. Break the bolts loose on the head in senquence.
8. Lift the head & intake off as a "whole" assembly.

EDIT - before you do anything, put the TDC on #1 cylinder first.
