I got a new idea for a wierd car. Since my A20/B16 engine is broken and its unlikley that it will be repaired. The head cracked.

Would it be possible to bolt the A20 engine to the CVT that came with some Honda Civics. I think its an M4P4 transmission. It would be perfect for a NA engine.

I was thinking of building a B16 and use ceramic coatings inside the engine.

A high revving B16 making equal power of a turbocharged A20 will win. Because there is no turbocharger to spool and you have that power instantly.

turbocharging is really just cheating in my opinion even though im guilty of it. You can turbocharge almost anything, it doesnt make it a good engine.

Sure it can, it can make an awesome engine. You need to build it right. A properly built turbod engine can last as long or longer than a factory NA engine. Thats my opinion though, anything will last longer than a sunfire though (personal experience)

Once again, you show how ignorant you truly are. A B16 doesn't make much power until you reach VTEC. VTEC is 5500, that's much different than instantly. Meanwhile, a turbo can reach full spool at 3K or even under depending on size and model.

What kind of racing do you intend to do?
There will always be a disadvantage to one or the other.

IF you can make equal power then sure you'll have great response, but if it's only Max HP and Tq that you are matching then forget it.

If you make max power at high rpm and only increase the VE (Volumetric Efficiency) at high rpm then you'll fall behind off the line even if you have less lag. Granted the VTEC Allows you to have different cam profiles, but Turbo increases VE across a broader RPM range, and the increase is greater in most cases.

So is this thread about you building a B16 or is it about hooking up a Hybrid Civic CVT ( continuously variable transmission ) to the A20?

Maybe he's claiming that he put a B16 head on the A20 and craked the head, thats my guess.

I don't care about that though, I wanna know if this belongs in R&D or if you want to swap in a B16... cause I'll move it to the engine swap forum if you don't intend to work on the A20.

He claims to have successfully put a B16 head on an A20. No pictures of this were ever produced of course. I think it's cause it never existed.
