I thought I would say his and intruduce myself. I baught an 88 Honda Accord in Febuary and when I baught her she had one problem the water pump was week. I must say that I truelly enjoy onwning her. All but for the problems that I have had this summer. Between her over heating and other little things that I am slowly working on. I have placed on here a thread I posted about what is going on. I know have to go out and lean her out cause she is getting to much gas. I truelly hope that I can get help with problems when needed. I do know that alot of the posts in here helped me with rebuilding my carberotur and thank you all for the pictures that you posted....

I just got done rebuilding my Carb. Just changed the radiator and fans and all the temp sensors on my car. How ever my trottle cable seems to be a little sticky when you push it to the floor. I am use to working on Chevy's concidering that was all my ex-husband would own. I however like Honda they are great and reliable cars. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on with my throttle. Also about a month ago my car started over heating and went to replace the thermostat one of the screws broke off in the thermostat housing and we had to take it to the Honda dealership to get it fixed. Well they did that and also broke the clip that holds my speedo cable and now that has been burnt and ruined. Well a day later it over heated again. I took it to another dealership and they tried to tell me I had an enternal water leak. HEHEHEHE after checking the oil I reliezed they were the biggest idiots I had ever met. The over heating stoped after changing the radiator and all the fans and sensors. Then the car started running like crap either ideling to high or to low depending on her mood. So I dicided to rebuild my carburetor. Are there any suggestions on what else to do just incase this doesn't work?
Thank you...

wow, sounds like you've had your hands full. i would be curious to see if the timing belt is off a bit. there is also a screw that you can adjust that will help get your idle at a normal rate. your overheating problems have gone away, right? since it had been overheating i would check to see if oil came out from around the header. if there is fresh oil on the block then you may have a head gasket out on you. i only say that in a preventative check sense. hope you can get this last problem out of the way.

i'm glad we have another female member on here, it's good you are working on your car yourself. my wife is helping me do the bodywork on mine and has discovered she is good at it. if you look at my car domain site, that fender that has been repaired was done by herself. i hope the people on this site can help you fix your problems with the car, if there is anything broke on it,someone has had it break before so there is already a solution somewhere. :welcome: did they fix the thermostat housing? did the screw break off in the block or the thermostat cover? if it broke off in the cover i've got an extra one here somewhere.

I Will check my timing belt. I know it was checked in Febuary when I had my water pump changed. I payed someone to do that it was to cold for me to do it outside. The over heating stop with the radiator major clog in it. I will check my
timing belt since that sounds like it could be off. My timing says it it timed right but it doesn't sound right. Thank you. I will let ya know. If you have any other suggestions I will gladdy take them.

I got my housing fixed. When they fixed my housing they broke several of my brackets and caused my speedo cable to fall on to my exhaust and well now that doesn't work anymore. So another task to do. Maybe she can come and help me take care of all of my little bits of rust. I want to get it taken care of and get her repainted. The interior is in great shape kind of strange when you look at the bottom and see a little bit of rust. Good thing there is no cancer. Thank you. let her know that the fender looks awsome.
