ok this isnt a thred about me doing a h22 swap being that ive heard that its the hardest and most costly swap , but i guess its a bigger pay off

ok i got a magazine from work by SCC with the cover of budget bad boys well anyway they have a 88-91 crx getting a h22 swap , now i thought well that car is wayy smaller than our accords (sedan 4 dr or HB) then y is it a problem that we have with other accords , there saying that a loongblock tranny and ecu can be bought for $2000 and they say its cheaper than a b18c and a bit more than a obd-0 b16 (im still not shure what obd means )\

but looking at the article again it does take alot of work

i know any swap usualy mean new mounts axels and ecu and a ton of $$ but has anyone sucessfully done this?

mounts are unavailable for us, whereas they are easy to find and not too expensive for that application.

that is to say, store-bought mounts are unavailable. as the saying goes, you can make anything work with sex or money.

... is that a saying? maybe that's just CT's motto

just kiddin, chief :D

I have that same magazine as well. I'm not sure where they got the figures for they're motor. Everytime I've ever seen an H22, it was at least 3K. The engine physically fits in our engine bays but since no off the shelf mounts are available, it's tougher. Not to mention getting the hydro tranny to work and the cable shifter.

I can look up everything you need to know about this swap, just give me time to add to this thread. This thread by the Director is a start.

ADD ON---

I can only give you some advice, I don't think you're bullshitting or anything... you seem to really want to swap that engine. I usually don't read H22A engine swap posts cause it's usually bullshit there. However, you seem serious liek I said...

I will give you some advice on your "conversion"

For the fuel lines... it's going to be really easy. You just need to install 1 fuel line from the pump to the fromnt for the car. the Old carb fuel line will act as the EFI return line. Then, get a custom high pressure hose to fit your fuel filter and the H22A fuel rail.

For the hydro clutch, it's really easy, I don't know why no one mentioned that yet. There are conversion kits for that kind of setup. It's basicaly a cable actuated master cylinder. Some motorcycles guys do that for their brakes.. just look a bit on the net and I'm sure you'll find something. For the shifter cables. Just use the same setup found on the H22A swaped Civics... no biggie... Like I said to you in another thread, if you get the engine to actually mount in the car, your only real problem will be the axles. All the rest (like wirings) is only a matter of time....

I will almost bet you this swap will be over $5000 cause for one just the hardware to do a B-series is about $2000 (for everything from PRI) then the motor H22 about $2500. Your not counting all the extras you will have to pay a junk yard for. Iv been working on my freinds 92 Prelude Si and he got a JDM 2.2 and its a bitch. There is a lot of other things involved and unless the person has experience with swaps and the 2.2 its not gonna be done right. After working on his car i dont think i would do the swap even if PRI made the mounts cause it will be very hard to work on and you will have to convert a lot of things over. Trust me if you have money you can have a fast accord with a B-series. Wickedaccord seems happy with his GSR swap and he still has endless possibilities and room under the hood.

They may of pulled it themselves from a junkyard. Junkyard's let almost anything go CHEAP
