That's the question I have cause i only have the light coming from above the odometer. So today I tried do the test light thing to figure it and fried something BUT that one light still works so I guess all is not lost! One of the blue wires on the outside of the gauge cluster is cut (there are two I can see as soon as I take off the cluster trim) Any Thoughts? :dunno:

Not sure what your asking exactly but it is backlite. There should be a thumb wheel to the right of the steering wheel to adjust.

Cut wire is never a good sign.

The top panel like towards the windshiel can also be remove maybe it make it easier to see in there.

It's still a bad pic... sorry but the black wire i don't think is suppose to be connected to the blue wire. I use a test light on the CUT blue wire and it lit up so I removed the black wire (which is connected to a ground) and checked that blue wire. that also lit up. so I connected the to blue wires together... nothing happened. Connected the CUT blue wire to the ground and POOF smoked! so I just hooked it up the way it was and said F it

Yeah 12v to ground is a dead short. you learned that.

Need to figure out where those wires go they should match up to the same color and be able to reach.

ok here is a picture of where they go,the two wires go from the diffuser to a special bulb socket. this allows current to go from the bulb socket to the diffuser lights. if you don't have the bulb socket, some of them are soldered to the circuit board. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_138_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_136_full.jpg if you shorted out the wires it's possible that you fried the dimmer controller, it's under the cover that covers the bottom of the steering colum. it's actually attached to the cover. here is a picture. it controls the ground going to the lights, it's pretty easy to fry. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_137_full.jpg

Well I noticed Some bulbs and holders are missing so I'm going to the boneyard to get them and I'll yank the dimmer control box too....
