That is an american engine. A20A1 is what you have in the engine bay there.

Came stock in all 86-89 accords unless its fuel injected, then its A20A3

A20A1 is US model engine. it is carbed motor and it was stock in DX and LX models. LXI models had A20A3 which was EFI motor.

You can convert carbed accord into EFI accord, but it will take some money and time. there is more about it in how to section.

bad news your carb is computered :lol: mine is the bs engine, same basic thing but according to some of my records i've got the compression is slightly different. this would be a good question for this thread. my hatch says made in japan but a lot of the sedans were made in the us in marysville ohio, and say made in usa under the hood. was that the split? the hatches made in japan while the sedans were made here? would that explain why some were bs and some were a20

BS is just an early A20 designation. All Japanese built Accords will start with a J-VIN# and the US start with 1-VIN#...BS and BT are just early codes. Some 86s have either BS or A20.

No, you pretty much can't get jack for A20 motors. BTW, overhead cam engines don't have lifters.
