i get home from work today and was very happy to find these in my mail box....

i finally come up with this......

im going to have 2 circles on both sides, with a smaller circle inside of the bigger ones for the signals. i took these pictures at about noon today, and have one of them almost finished, just need to glue the lens back on the taillight housing. i will have a video up tomorrow of both of them done and in action.

nice.. how did ya wire them, i just made some clear lens and that looks hot, i might wanna try that..

hmmm...nice I like seeing new original ideas...I think that is what is so great about our cars. You dont see civics with any thing you cant buy done to their cars...creative.. I like...

oh, and this picture was of a test fitting, one of the circles is around the stupid reflector, and the other one is on the right. perfectly spaced. and to anyone else wanting to do this....it is extremely tedious....jeez......tedious to say the least, took me 8 hours without stopping to get one done....but it looks pretty good, if i may say so myself, so to me it was worth it... oh and to anyone wondering one taillight took 109 leds, but thats alright, i bought 300 leds and 350 resistors, so i will have a quite a few left for my dash lighting

Where did you buy the resistors. I have a bunch of leds but don't want to spend a ton of money at radio shack to get enough resistors.

i got my resistors free with my leds, i got 300 of them for 13.00 you cant really tell from the picture but there hella bright, 8,000 mcd i believe.
im going to have to sand the tip of each one of them to diffuse the light a bit, so i dont get pulled over when a cop pulls up behind me and i blind him with my tails.....although...that would be a really funny thing to go to court over......hahaha

anyway, i have a video, i just need to find a place to host it.....i cant seem to find anything.

why not use one of the round led tailights that are pre made? it's the same idea,most of the ones i've seen have a big rubber ring around them but it comes off. they usually have a taillight and brake function. you could mount it inside of the lens. http://www.florawrecker.com/Merchant2/images/maxm56100r.jpg they are dot legal too, so you can blind the cop and he can't say anything :lol:

i had this same idea about a year ago, but then the g35 came out, i didnt want to be a copycat, so i gave up. I really dont want to see these types of tails over blown like the alcheezas. If yours end up coming out good, i might try my own, keep it up, just dont put the uber fast blinkers on em and rice em out. I think these lights would look really nice dark w/ light tint of red. Cant wait to see the finished product...

I had a really popular idea on here a few years ago about the round tails,then every ricer around started putting them on. so i held off on the idea. still got the stuff somewhere

saw something simmilar like that but in a Y pattern from a company in the new SCC issue it hooks up to the stock harness i think ill buy a few and try it out but first i need to find someone with a passenger side hatch tail :sad2: so i can finish mine up

thanks alot guys, i will try to get another video up again, i gotta wait for my brother to come back from brazil so i can use his digital camcorder.


and yes the love for the hatch is strong in this one, my last 4 cars were hatchbacks

i really like the accord hatch, WAY better that that damn sedan i used to have and put sooooo much money into trying to make it look good....it won a few shows...but i was never fully satisfied with it. the hatch i like, tons of potential.

if you ever looked at a 2gen rx7 they have a circular brake light. looks good
