car takes more than one time to start every morning

every morning my car takes me at least 2 times to try and start the car. it wont start with one try and also after it starts theres always a screeching sound. can anyone help me out?

Well is it fuel injected or carb and the screeching sound is probably one of your belts.

Do you have coolant and oil in the car?

its carb. i have oil and coolant. what can i do about the belts?

Do you pump the pedal before you start it? On the belts if they haven't been changed in a while You might just go a head and change them Or if their newer you probably need to check the tension on them. If that doesn't help you can always try some belt dressing but thats only a temp fix.

yeah i pump the pedal a little. i gotta check with the guy who gave it to me about the belts.

does it start but dyes after 2..3 sec and so on.. ?
Honda recommends pumping pedal twice in the morgings, and 3..4 times during cold season. But it may need some ajustment of the choke flap..

..or u havto crank twice ?

its different every time. sometimes it would start but would turn off in less than 2 seconds and sometimes it wont start at all. i just wanted to know if it waws normal or is something wrong with my car?

Obviously is NOT normal!
Mine starts right away..
