Socal track meet 8/12/05

Well we had are meet and besides the fact that my oil drain line snapped right before the meet and a couple people getting lost it was pretty fun. Especially once we got to the track everyone was having fun.

The car isnt even complelty tuned yet and i wasnt really ready to race it but i really wanted to since everyone else was going too. The day started out bad. I walked out side to go to the meet and noticed there was oil on my crossmember and i instantly new what it was. The damn oil drain tube broke off again. Basically we ended up going to my house and working on it for awhile to get it so i could race. We ended up giving up and just jb welding it lol. Then i had to slap on some mixed matched not even the same size tires so i could even race. Then we headed out to the track. I couldnt even launch other wise the tires would spin in first too bad. Second gear the clutch would slip to no end. But i still managed to pull off a 14.81 at 94 mph on about 6-7 psi of boost, at the end with coolant leaking out of my car from one of the damn hoses somewhere lol. This is also with full interior/jack/sparetire/tools etc. We didnt really get much pics until the track closed at 10.30pm and it was pitch black becauase we were so busy the whole meet. But i got a couple to show you guys. Im not exactly sure what everyone else ran so they can post there times if they want. I know ian's car wasnt running at its top condition either. And probbaly a couple others too.


Here is the conversion table if any of you that went to the meet wanted to see what they would run at sea level.

LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is as follows:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.

14.8 = 14.3
94mph= 96mph

sweet. i should have taken pics of my switch and trunk.

my fastest was about 18 flat before the conversion for elevation, so i guess around 17.5 at sea level.

I'm not sure. I think Ians girlfriend took one or two, but thats about it.. That car with the white front is one of the guys dads cars or something. It's a civic.

hey sorry about the late reply, i pretty much slept all day today. i was up at 8:00am race day after only 3 hours of sleep do to working nights. but besides that the meet was bad ass. i think i could of done better if i had my stock rims on. after the conversion my best would be 17.2 . possibly even better if my tranny wasn't on its death bed. i couldn't really launch like i wanted to and i had to take it easy going into second, well at least i wanted to take it easy. by the time i actually got on the track i was going all out so i dont think my tranny was to happy at the end of the night. in all it was fucking sweet. cant wait for the next one :rockon:

i think it's really cool that you guys did a 3gee track meet. you should do another one before summer's over, and get more pics! maybe some of the cars actually racing:lol:

so 3geemodifier, you did better than an 18 up there? dang, that means my car must have been sucking pretty bad. lol. Its been parked since i drove it back home. I'm waiting for some time this week to figure out the headlights/battery situation.

lol i didnt race no one i wanted to race, i think the only fair match was with ian and i still got beat lol i was racing only like the really fast cars, it was fun though

um i raced ian, 300zx, 11 sec crx lol, rsx-s, and an 3gen prelude wich i though would be a good match but ended up doing 16secs lol

Im sure up for another meet too. It would be fun. Now everyone knows how to get here lol. I want to get a good clutch and some tires before i go out there though lol.

Haha, i raced a lancer that did 15's, i raced a bmw m5 that did 16's and i raced 3geemodifier who ran 18's.. I raced a VW golf that did 16's... Lots of cars that did 16's. Haha. :)

Y'know what really sucks.... The wedding wasnt worth missing this. It was fun hanging out with my brothers, but i think i would had WAY more fun at the track. Now i know better. :)
